Play Called Off due to bad light, Australians call that Third World
by Shital on Dec 20, 2008 09:30 AM  | Hide replies

This is interesting , All Australian Players past and present are unable to digest the loss against India. In every interview when asked about India tour, they say Oh! thats third world country...I have a few questions for them which BCCI and Indian Sports ministry should also think about:
(1) Why do they travel to a third world country to play IPL?Money...Money...Money (ABBA song)
(2)If rain, poor light, weather is to decide whether it is a third world or first world country, then England should also be a third world:-)
(3) Indian sports ministry should pass a law that every foreign player to play in IPL should get a permission from BCCI!!!

I fyou have been to Australia you will understand what it is to be in a third world country. Our infrastructure is poor, hygiene and sanitation pathetic and civic sense of the people attrocious. We are indeed backward although we may talk a lot about our ancient heritage, wisdom and the now blossoming economic resurgence.Majority of our people live in filthy conditions while the rich live in luxury .The inequality is glaring .Do not blame others if they tell the truth.

If Dhoni ...

will not able to win the 5th consecutive test as Captain, then we should give credit to only one person.
He is our wall (!!!).
Kick this person out from the present team if we really want 2 reach no. 1 spot.

IF the wall does not play the sheet anchor role, you clamour for his flesh; if he does play, you say he is the cause for the drawn result.

grow up man.

being an arm chair critic is easy. any tom, dick or harry can be it.

a drawn match is better than a lost one. atleast your idol's (msd's) record of not having lost a single match will remain intact.

dravid is selfish...
by arvin g on Dec 20, 2008 08:41 AM  | Hide replies

dravis is most selfish/boring and useless cricketer presently in indian team... with his gurus chappals he almost destroyed indian cricket by playing dirty politics... now with this inning he would kill people interest in test cricket again... only thing he is worried about is his place in team for nz tour so he can make more money by working with bookies...

Dravids current form is pathetic... agreed...he may not deserve a place in team.. agreed But dont call Dravid as most selfish..Next to Tendulkar, nobody in Indian team shows as much as mental maturity as Dravid does. Just imagine SreeSanth, Harbajan at the level when Dravid was in his peak :)...

Gambir Deserves more Applause and Recognition
by Sam K. John on Dec 20, 2008 08:00 AM  | Hide replies

Gambir has been performing at the hightest level in the last one and half years, be it limited overs, 20/20 or Test cricket. He may not an agressive player like Shewag or Jeyasuriya, but he is a run machine. Media has to highlight him more. When Sachin or Dhoni hit a century, the whole world goes gaga, which is good to see. I am not equating Gambir to Sachin (Sachin is a living legend! - no comparison for him in cricket), but Gambir is an excellent asset to India Cricket. He has at least 10 years to serve the nation. Gambir, keep up the good work.

Ageed 100% John. In fact Gambhir, Sachin, Sewag, Yuvi, Dhoni, Rohit Sharma, S Badrinath is a good batting lineup. Selectors should exclude Dravid and Laxman not because they are out of form, but more important that they bring down the enthusiasm in Team India by not performing and being slow.

Dravid should retire
by ALOK GUPTA on Dec 20, 2008 07:34 AM  | Hide replies

No doubt that Dravid was a great player and the wall. But now no more. He should retire after this test does not matter if he scores or not.

The way he played today it is very clear he is playing for himself. We are in such a stage that our new aggressive and scoring batsman led India to victory by higher score and run rate. The pitch is good for batsman and at first down he is suppose to waste ball.

Nutshell its clear he is saving himself first then team India. We don’t need such players any more.

dravid is not going to retire and selectors cant drop him for fear of betting syndicates of whom dravid is a part... but someday dhoni will get better idea... he will ask yuvi to make dravid a ball and throw at sehwag who will hit him out of the ground like a six and dravid the dust wall will be blown away for good...

it is better to leave when starting downhill rather than bottom it out.
