special team
by chris lee on Dec 16, 2008 12:36 PM

special team doesn't have one super talent. you think laxman isn't special? he's special in his own way. so is dhoni. so is dravid. so is bhajji. so is sachin. so is sehwag. a special team needs MANY special players. and our team is the best in the world. this is the time to celebrate. not fight over who's getting more attention because at the end of the day it is an INDIAN who's getting all the attention. he's one of you. he represents our country(which means you, me, your parents) with such class that we should be proud that when foreigners see him, they see an Indian. I'm proud that such a humble genius is from the same land as me.

MYTH BUSTER
Thanks Kevin & Co.
by MYTH BUSTER on Dec 16, 2008 12:35 PM

It was a great Test match any whichever way one looks at it. How many times does a debutant takes two wickets in his first over ?How many times a batsman scores a century in each innings of a match ? How many times a team scores 387 runs for just 4 wickets in the 4th innings of a match on a crumbling pitch to emerge victorious ? But above all, let us remember for all times to come that this Test series is very significant for a very special reason. It comes about on the heels of a terrible terrorist attack on our country and at a time like this it is only understandable that people living in distant countries would have considered it unsafe to visit us. However, as an Indian, I am extremely grateful to Kevin and his teammates that they decided to visit us. This way, they have demonstrated to the whole world that terrorism is being exported to us from across our borders and basically we are a safe and civilised country . A million thanks to Kevin and the administrators of English cricket.

sachin
by Subhash N Gharpure on Dec 16, 2008 12:23 PM  | Hide replies

We have been discussing and many ignorant cricket so called experts have been saying that sachin did not play any winning wining game. Please note that if he was not to play those innings, we should have lost the matches or that would have been seen as miserable cricket of India. See the performance of bowlers to day for winning the game and also compare the performance and support of the players of those days. Remember the test match we lost at Channai against Pakistan ? Sachin played well but last sex wickets were lost in just in less than 25 run ( this case also people tried to put the blame on Sachin ). Don’t forget the inning at Pakistan, where Abdul Kadir, the best of Pakistan was demolished by Sachin. Akram and his team mates also appreciated Sachin’s game very same time. Sachin has done good as a batsman, as a bowler, as a fielder and also as good human being and good team mate. Non controversial on the field /of the field.

Mr Gharpure, your feelings and judgement are excellent. But the critics of Sachin will paint you as a partisan maharshtrian supporting a fellow state man.I have been following the people who comment about sachin & have found that the Ganguly and Dravid supporters form the most vitriolic attackers. The anti-india commentors also make use of this situation by adding fuel to fire. The reality is Sachin need not prove himself to anybody.Anybody who has scored over 11,000 runs in test cricket and 16,000 runs in the oneday fromat is no ordinary cricketer.None of the present crop of cricketers even come near his achievement. Lara's scores are good for test matches but just comapre his one day record and you will see the difference in temperament and class of the two.According to me he is a bigger legend than the Don.What is important for us is Sachin is an Indian.we should learn to appreciate.

not sehwag or sachin but sehwag and sachin
by chris lee on Dec 16, 2008 12:23 PM  | Hide replies

you can't win without sehwag's innings or sachin's innings. They were both special. Sachin dedicated this win to all Indians. Stop fighting about who should get more credit. Enjoy the win and enjoy life.

And don't forget India is the best TEAM now. Not because of one player but because of many great team players.

to my fellow indians: don't be jealous that Sachin is getting so much credit. you should be proud that such a gifted and humble human being is Indian. He's the inspiration to millions of Indians, including Sehwag. Celebrate a fellow Indian's genius, his effort.

Experts vs idiots
by chris lee on Dec 16, 2008 11:59 AM  | Hide replies

Pieterson thinks Sachin's innings was magical. Sehwag thought it was sensational. Dhoni thought it was brilliant. All the commentators thought he was the key man. Only idiots, with no life who have to bash someone who has done something that they can't even dream of, think Sachin's innings was ordinary. I think I know who's right here and the idiots just like every other time got it wrong. Try again losers

all the great players who played test cricket know what Sachin did was extra special under the pressure he did. only those who don't understand try to belittle his achievement here. In a way it's a compliment to Sachin that these guys think the innings was ordinary because he made batting, on an uneven pitch under intense sun with the pressure of bringing a smile to his home fans, look so eaaasyy.

experts praise sachin, idiots bash him
by Guest on Dec 16, 2008 11:56 AM

Sehwag thinks Sachin was sensational, Pieterson thinks Sachin was magical, Dhoni thought Sachin was brilliant, all the commentators think his innings was the key. Yet the losers on this forum who have nothing better to do than bash someone who achieved something they can't even dream of are saying his innings was average. OK, carry on with your idiocy. Whatever makes you sleep better

Greatest Indian batsman is Kumble, who is the last to get a 100 in Lords.
