Security of players and the crowd

Appreciate BCCI on this support. However, it should also focus on the fool proof security arrangements in all the cricket stadiums with state of the art facilities ensuring safetly to all the spectators and the players.

I really hope the money do reach to the real heros. The trend I have seen is like the policemen with higher rank gets more money than constables. This should not happen. A sacrifice is a sacrifice.
Hats Off to those heros. I salute you.

Yes its a noble thought indeed that a sacrifice is a sacrifice. But compensation to dead is usually done by rank and for a good reason. They have died in the line of duty while working. I agree a lot more can be done for everyone whos lost someone in this. But in any forces, throughout the world, the compensation to deceased's family is always determined with rank, especially if its in the line of duty.

I add that is anyone thinking of compensation and giving financial aid to people like the staffers in Taj who died while trying to save others. They hardly are getting recognition leave alone financial aid.... simply cos they are considered to be civilians and not uniformed.

Create a Terror Victim Fund
by opinion on Dec 16, 2008 12:47 AM  | Hide replies

I appreciate this gesture by BCCI. I think we tend to give more money only for the victims of much publicized terror attacks. There are so many terror victims elsewhere in the country. We should create a central terror victim fund and whenever terror strikes and claim lives of unfortunate fellow citizens funds should be donated from the corpus.

Maybe the pathetic BCCI can also support better equipment at test venues. After all how much does it take! It was disgusting to see the rusty lawn movers that were used to cut grass on the pitch and the Jhaddus that were brought on when some repairs needed to be made on the pitch in the middle of the game.
