Kapil Dev - Extraordinary Gentleman ???
by aj on Dec 10, 2008 10:35 AM  | Hide replies

What a joke!!!

Dont add Kapil Dev in the list of extraordinary gentlemen. A sportperson who cries on a TV channel in front of a live audience of millions of people is no gentleman. Not even a sportman.

What a stupid statement to make!!!
Just because he cried in front of the world does that make him a weakling???
Does that one act take away the years of hard work committment effort he put in his entire life?? Does that one act nullify all his achievement??
People all over the world respect that man and consider him one of the finest all rounders in the game because he played the game with a passion!!
Kapil cried because he gave this game his all and even after that his honesty and integrity were questioned and that was something he could not bear!!
For me this incident did not weaken kapil devs character but only showed his love for the game!!

It's another stupid ploy of Australians and their media, who always target one good player in the opponent side to mentally disturb the team. They did this before too.

The fact that Australian media is targetting Kallis itself proves that he is the best in SA team right now. So Kallis and his fans should feel happy about it.

Tendulkar is greatest

EVerybody says Don Bradman is great. ITs really rediculous. He does not have greatest bowler to bowl. Anyone say good bowlers name. ALso there was no third umpire to scrutiny the runouts. Particularly during the old times, the aussie umpires never give out to their country players as far as Runout, Stumping and LBW before third umpire technology. But see Sachin tendulkar, he plays great bowlers like Mcgrath, Warne, Lee, Donald, Pollock, Vettori, Murali,Vaas, Jason Gillespie, Akram, etc etc etc Waqar,Akthar, Ambrose, Walsh and scored runs in both forms of Cricket.
So as far as all time list is concerned the first place is Sachin and there is no second and third place is concerned. Fourth will come Ricky Pointing and so on.
Sachins record of 16000 ODI runs and 12000 Test runs and more than 80 International centuruies cannot be compared and it will take a monumental effort to break that effort by any player whose form should be in peak for atleast 15 years like Sachins form is.
DONT SAY DON IS THE BEST.
SACHIN IS THE BEST AND GREATEST OF ALL TIME

Amit, I beg to differ.
Sir Donald Bradman ended his carrer with an average of 99.97. Second highest till date is around 64. In Bradman's time there was no helmet, pitches were not covered as it was done now. Replays in runout has often helped bowlers also. The English bowlers had to resort to "bodyline" tactics against him. Read the article on "Bodyline" in wikipedia for more details.
I do not wish to disrespect Sachin, he is a great cricketer. But Sir Don was a class apart.
