Sachin - The Story - Please Read...
by fff on Dec 09, 2008 12:27 PM  | Hide replies

Sachin's selfishness can be understood clearly by reading this story:

Just like how Sachin is spoiling Sehwag-Gambhir pair today, he did similar thing in the past to Sehwag-Ganguly pair. Though Ganguly was captain, he could not withstand Sachin's politics regarding Opening-Slot. Though Sehwag-Ganguly pair emerged devastating (in team's interest rather than personal-milestones), Sachin forced the pair to break in order to fulfill his stat-addiction and also for his slot in India's ODI team (He just doesn't know how to bat in the middle-order for ODI).

Who wants these personal-milestones? I would say Sachin-Ganguly pair was a disastrous one for India, and I would value Sehwag-Ganguly pair (even though it was short), as it influenced India winning difficult matches (like the Lords Finals).

But unfortunately most of our cricket-lovers are blinded by the milestone-achievements of Sachin-Ganguly pair which only resulted in glorious (big-margin, easy) victories against weakened & out-of-form teams. But fearless-pairs like Sehwag-Ganguly, Sehwag-Gambhir will win you difficult matches by giving super-starts. That's why India is stronger today!

For stat-addicts, all I can say is,your idol took 70 Odd matches for hitting 1st century in ODIs. Whereas today the demand is so high! Even though Yuvaraj has scored few centuries (fearlessly) in test-matches, it took so long to cement his position in test-team.

Sachin wouldn't have sustained his position in the team, if he had fallen to current era, or even Dravid-Ganguly era, because of steep competition.

So, the inference is stop blind-individual-following and improve team-spirit.

Yuvaraj has a bright test-cricket future!
by fff on Dec 09, 2008 11:28 AM  | Hide replies

I think he will give a new dimension to Indian Test Cricket with his fearless stroke-play! He & Dhoni will make sure that there is respite for opposition bowlers with old ball. With new ball, Gambhir & Sehwag will give great opening. India has a super-team now. Pujara's inclusion will take this team out of the world.

Dravid should bat at No. 3 only.
by fff on Dec 09, 2008 11:22 AM

There are rumors that Dravid may be asked to bat down. But I think Dravid should continue batting at No.3. Laxman should be promoted at No.4. Yuvaraj can bat at No.5.

Test Cricket Match entertainment will never be there in this match.
It seems to be a Charity match. Serious play may not be there. If both the team play with great passion then cricket will win.
