Strong message to cowards

English team should play test matches as per schedule and send out a clear message to the entire world. Cricketers are as brave as army soldiers.

Insensitive BCCI
by indira on Dec 01, 2008 07:10 PM  | Hide replies

I think BCCI is insensitive to what happened. Otherwise it would not be bent upon going ahead with the test matches with England. So many innocent people lost their lives in the terrorist attacks and the entire nation is in mourning and all BCCI could think of is only which venue will host which test! Both England and Indian teams will not be in a proper frame of mind to play cricket. Why can't our board think of this? May be for them money is above the lives of the players. Why can't the government itself force the board to postpone the matches?

Dear Mz. Indira.
I dont think the BCCI is insensitive to what happend here. If the cricket series does not happen, the future sporting of any kind might get hindred. And if the England does not come back, it will be a moral victory to the terriorists & the terror organizations. They will achive what they wanted to achive, that is disrupting the normal life in India & getting international recogintion.
I agree with you on one point that BCCI will loose money without the test series not happening. And that the BCCI is running behind money.
But when we look at the larger picture, we should let this go.
And, as all of us know. There are only 2 things that keeps the entire country together, Bollywood & Cricket. So let the cricket matches heal the wounds that have been inflicted on us by the terriorists.

I agree entirely with Indira ...

As a mark of respect for the dead.. I think BCCI should shelve this tour..they are hell bent on asking England to tour only because of the revenue they would lose on advertisement and television rights..BCCI cares a damn for the common people .. they just want to fill their coffers.

I quote Sachin Tendulkar 'I didnt sleep during these terror attacks and still having nightmares'

BCCI and the other writers here are insensitive to the cause espoused by the common people.

we need cricket matches to invigorate the despondent mood o Indian nation. If England tours, people o India will remember their good will gesture for a long long time.

Good Attitude of Pieterson
by Bhootnath on Dec 01, 2008 05:16 PM

Good move by Captain. That,s why Flintoff cannot be a good captain. He is afraid about coming back to India when all other Englishmen are ready. I think ECB should sack him for such attitude.

ECB should realize this is probably the safest time to ytour India following heightened alertness and security arrangements being made everywhere.

Thats a welcome move by the English board. At last we'll see some cricket on the field. Good luck to both the teams.

Zim was unlucky. They could win 2 out of 3 matches with SriLanka.

He has 48 wickets in 18 matches so far. He needs just 2 from 4 matches to break the record, which he will definitely get.
