good news but what abt yuvraj
by . on Aug 31, 2008 12:02 AM

on the night before the last odi in sl, yuv was found partying till 2 in the night. next day, he scored brilliant 17 runs before being bowled on the very first ball of mendis. (forget his previous brilliant scores in the entire series). news24 channel reporting the video of his ad campaign.
bcci is silent on this episode. yuv has become bigger than anybody in the game. such indiscipline if done by junior members vl fetch punishment from management. but not to yuv.

mr chaitanya if my memory serves me right it was harbhajan singh who rolled on the field like a monkey so if there's anyone who fits the tag of a monkey then its harbhajan singh not symonds..

symonds is out of the aus-bangladesh series
by jay jay on Aug 30, 2008 06:26 PM  | Hide replies

Cricket Australia drops symonds from the aus-bangladesh oneday series on disciplinary grounds.Cricket Australia time and again proves to the world and to the other cricket boards that their players'(aussies) are not bigger than the game. Sadly that is not true when we talk abt our players(Indians).Australians have ruled cricket for more than a decade and are still going strong ..credit to such dominance can't be just players alone but infact much of the credit should go to the australian cricket board for picking players at the right time and dropping players when they pass their prime.

Monkeys like catching Fish? Can any one tell what was the size of fish he caught, he was out all night and could not get to the team meeting that day.

The issue is not Symonds here
by baranikumar mahadevan on Aug 30, 2008 03:43 PM  | Hide replies

Some on the message board have severely condemned and criticised Symonds. Maybe Symonds is not popular and maybe he was at fault.

That is besides the point.

What is important to note is that we should observe how Australia considers DISCIPLINE. No matter how important a player is he is considered a player - a team member and NOT as a superstar.

It indicates how we should treat our seniors, our cricketing superstars.

Don't understand why they don't use the same yardstick for gauging Ponting/Warne. They are known for drinking, off-field antics, mugging etc.

Mr.Silva, Warne and Ponting have also been disciplined earlier. If you have no knowledge of this, check it out before making comments here. FYI Warne was banned for a year and he lost out on his captaincy chances due to this. Ponting has also been disciplined earlier.

Warne was already banned for 1 year by the Aussies for using diet tablet.

Similarly ponting was kicked out of team for parying late night.

He (ponting) was also kicked out for getting in a nightclub brawl where he was bashed by a fellow Aussie!

why symonds was booted out of the team?
by Guest on Aug 30, 2008 02:21 PM  | Hide replies

Symonds missed a compulsory team meeting and hence he was asked to leave the team and miss the series. Three cheers to Cricket Australia for taking such a severe action on an aussie player whose omission further weakens the aussie line up who are already without ponting, lee ,hayden and the latest casualty being symonds. This decision by the Australian Cricket board further proves how efficient the adminstration is...

Australia is not weakened... thier bench strength is world class. I believe that Australia A would be the second best team in the world due to the quality of fringe players

i dont think we should get personal. Symonds is a great in his own right.

If you wanna get critical you should look at india itself. It could be called the gargage heap of the world due to pollution.

Mr.Robin, People should be judged purely on their actions and not on their parentage or whether he was adopted etc. So please dont make personal comments about anyone's past.
