RE:Yuvraj is back with a bang..........

Yuvraj can only play in ODIs and not in tests. He was given chance in Australia and flopped miserably in the 3 tests he played. Everyone knew that he cant play quality spinners but in Australia his weakness against genuine quick bowling was exposed. He played in over 20 tests but his performance has been totally inconsistent. Better to include Badrinath or Venugopal Rao in place of Ganguly than Yuvraj.

Yuvray cant play test but only Oneday, Yousuf Pathan cant paly oneday but T20, who r u to decide, u dont give a chance to Yuvraj because of his prior failure, but u want sachin, ganguly and rest inspite of their current failure. Practice makes the man perfect, you can hardly expect a prepared test player from current generation, you need to prepare them by giving chances again and again, as they have technique, but lack pateience, which comes thru time.....
The ECB mentioned that none of their test players will play in Champions League. It means that a Middlesex player who is part of the test squad will not be allowed to play. The only Middlesex player close to England selection is Owais Shah. Where do Kevin Pietersen, Andrew Flintoff, Monty Panesar and Paul Collingwood come in the picture? Harish Kotian stupidly deduced from the ECB statement that England stars mentioned above wont be allowed. He should be sacked from rediff.

You are right none of the players that include Kevin Pietersen, Andrew Flintoff, Monty Panesar and Paul Collingwood feature in any of the teams but there were strong media speculation that pieterson and flintoff were being seeked by Rajasthan Royals so that is why the ECB made such a statement.
This report by Harish missed the crucial points that is why it left its readers confused.

The speculation about Pietersen and Flintoff joining was for next season of IPL and not for Champions League. Because for the Indian teams in Champions League, the rules of IPL 2008 apply. And with these rules of maximum spending limit and limit on total number of foreign players, the IPL teams cannot recruit Pietersen and Flintoff for 2008.
One point comes to my mind that everyone likes to see good cricket and IPL 2008 got very good response all over India, now with CHAMPIONS LEAGUE-2008 schedule for December-2008 only shows the keen interest shown both by the organisers & public equally responding by watching matches either in grounds or on tv.Recruitment of overseas players in respective teams will only add glamour to the game and our youngsters will get expousure to international standards in India inself.IPL 2008 REALLY was the beginning to the arena of cricket of high excellence both to the players & to the spectators to watch the game of good cricket.Hats off to LALIT MODI FOR ORGANISING IPL-2008.Hope to see good cricket in CHAMPIONS LEAGUE-2008 IN DECEMBER 08'with the participation of more of international players particularly from WEST INDIES.I have been following the game of cricket from the days of WESLEY HALL & CHARLES GRIFFIT the two fast bowlers of WEST INDIES really hats off to both of them who on their visit to India in 60s won the hearts of all by their speed and fast deliveries which kept all spell bounded - recollecting itself gives so much joy onto oneself only makes one to see more of good cricket which IPL 2008 STARTED OFF which I must say with FLYING COLOURS.
"There are a few things that we need to assess," said Dhoni. "I've always been saying that confidence shouldn't go up and down with the performance. You have to stay positive always."
Good positive thinking, sign of a great captain. Best of luck for ODI series against Sri Lanka.
