He is definately decisive person in England cricket as well as modern world as a best batsman, this is the time he can prove his abilities and make good team before Ashes in England, team is good but need some confident, so KP's job is mentally prepare for his teamates. He his having good support in his team Flintoff, Strauss & Bell said he is the decisive in the squad and lead by example, no doubt about it he is the best ever produced English batsman, So all the best for his fature games.

the news item and the topics discussed here has no relevance at all.. why is it being posted here ? one could very well post these comments against the news item Dhoni gets khel ratna.
nevertheless it is too early for Dhoni to get this award, having said that let him make this deserving by motivating the team and bringing the world cup in 2011 atleast.. that would be a real achievement.. that would deserve khel ratna ... winning 20-20 was no mean achievement, but winning the real world cup and being on top in test cricket is the real test of a cricketer. if dhoni can do this, he is a champion cricketer.

"Too early for this award" seems to advocate the philosophy saying that young performer are insignificant than the old ones who have performed and are being carried with the mainstream becuase they did it some time back. To make it clear that I aint indicating to Great Sachin tendulkar. He is a gem who never needs any polishing on any given day.
What Dhoni has achieved in the short spam of time is incredible. Cementing his place right from the first series he played and then transformation into a dependable player is his initial credits. The story doesnt end here. He became eligible and most potential candidate to lead India with no close challenge or threat to his duty. And top of that he stood all the expectation we showered on him. I dont know what else will make him eleigible for this award. Age and time is no barrier for a skill or talent to flourish.

Rajeev Bhatia: Excellent suggestion. People like Muthugada./Joy. are very jeolous type. They will criticize just for the sake of it. Sachin is definitely contributing by his personal records. Dhoni is very cool and I am sure he will definitely shine in the coming years.

well said.... I would say he may be a good player ..but it was really too early to set him along with the great Sachin Tendualkar..Wining a 20-20 World cup no way can be a bench mark of this award....let him play for few years and prove how good a player he is ........He has not really proved his worth as a Test Player.....His batting skills not yet tested and proved in foreign soil ven in ODI's..... and let him keep against Kumble and Bhajji in turning pitches in India /Srilanka in test Matches....
Pietersen is the best candidate for this job after Collingwood and M.Vaughan. His place is fixed in both ODI and Test. He is mentally strong. I.Bell also have potential for lead Eng.
England is most unfit team in world. Flintoff, Harmison, Hoggard, S.Jhones, M.Vaughan are not 100% fit. Peiterson will face so many problems. Best of luck to Pieterson.
'RATNA' word has got devalued. dhoni cud hv got arjun award or any other but not this 'ratna' award. his acievements deserve some award but certainly not this RATNA award.
ok dhobi won the t20 world 'championship' (not the world cup). ok he won odi triangular series in ausi (not the world cup). ok ind has hopes on him to take ind fwd in future. (although he is talented to succeed only on flat sub-continent pitches, n has no genuine talent to succeed against the quality opponents in ausi like pitches). but that doesnt mean he is a khel 'ratna'.
just like bharat 'ratna' is highest civilian award given to exemplary service to the nation, khel 'ratn' is highest sports award given to exmplary achievement. just like bharat ratna cant b given to an mp who has won by record margin against his opponents, but to those who has served his life to the upliftment of poor, khel ratna is given to the player who has played whole of his life to show par excellence. in akbar regime, there were only 9 ratnas. so ratna can b awarded to any ordinary persons.
although dhobi is good enough to b in the team but not good enough to fit into this exceptional award of RATNA.

Lets all give the RATNA to Vinay..after all he brought home T20 world cup in the absence of all cricketing stalwarts including the orginal Ratna Tendulkar....Tendulkar surely deserves the Ratna for compiling personal records and making umpteen attempts in getting the World Cup to India..Still bet VINAY would be a better option

Why this nonsense entries abt Sachin and Sehwag..
Sehwag is struggling to have his place confirmed in playing 11 for one days. He has been in and out for quite a long time. I dont intend to question his skills. But consistancy has been an area of concern. Who wouldnt want Sehwag to thrash 100 runs in 50 balls. But the question is "Do we have the best bargain in playing Shwag at cost of other player. Then the second question would be at what position Sehwag cab play. Sachin being certain for opening slot. The battle remains between Sehwag and Gambhir. Gambhir cant be ommitted out of race at all. So what is the ideal combination?
