The award appears a bit early, considering it is the top award in sports. A player should prove his worth over a longer period of time and only outstanding players should be awarded.
Is he good enough to get SRK achievement award being held later in this year? I have a feeling SRK will get the first SRK award for his magnanimous achievements. But Dhoni might be a close call.

This is the worst day in Indian cricket... Of all the people DHoni when we have Dada, Dravid,Laxman,Kumble and Sehwag who have contributed more to Indian cricket..... He certainly doesnt deserve to win this as yet...

Well said.He is not contributed that much. It is too early to give him such a big award.He even hasn't secured his place in test team

dear folks, these awards are just baubles, every one is speaking about khel ratna, where bharat ratna awardees are unable to get deserving respect from our politicians.if you can recollect the comments made by the congress spokeperson mrs.natrajan about dr.abdul kalam during the recent president elections are shameful. she is definitely no match in any way to the strature of dr. kalam
