Its not about North or South dude - its time to get rid of your inferiority complex!
Everyone knows that Sree is over-the-top with his mannerisms on the field. He is not being agressive - he is being obnoxious in a juvenile way! What Bhajji did should not be condoned but as one Indian saying goes "you cant clap with one hand" - Sree needs to be talked to and warned as well.

A matter of time
by India on Apr 30, 2008 12:46 PM

It is only a matter of time before Sree is banned from the game also sooner tham later. Sree thinks it is a cool thing to behave like a monkey on the field. Even players from India don't like him especially Dhoni and Sachin. Sree must have behaved real bad for Bhajji to slap him. But this nutcase Sree got away easy. Next time a foreign player assaults Sree he will end up in hospital.

The name calling in the net by anonymous users is in poor taste and is to be condemned by all. This is not fun - this is abuse and will do you no good...it is always better to criticise behaviour without calling names...not because the name calling hurts .. it doesn't.. it is just a waste of time and spoils cyberspace by littering it.
The BCCI taking exception to every comment is going a little overboard - the umpire was expressing his feelings... and it is debatable if he should restrained or not in what he says... but justice and right tends to prevail in the long term.. so let's wait and see.

Not sure, this name calling is called for. Sree and Baggi are both temperamental players. They can both do well to get their attitude towards the game checked up. While I agree with the suspension. BCCI has shown its inexperience by suspending a franchise winning player for 11 games and then calling it to be extended for the entire season. He should have been allowed to play in the semis, if Mumbai reaches the semis. I think the IPL adminsitration didnt take into taccount the Reliance Franchise's monitory investment.

The BCCI is showing its muscle, because it has the money and therefore knows that the players are at its mercy. The arrogance is concealed behind official we-mean-business facade. Although firmness is in order, BCCI should take note that theirs is a money making business and it is the players who are doing the hardwork and the money that the officials enjoy is made by the players. Players have their problems and mistakes can happen... it is the responsibility of BCCI to weigh things and not act high handedly slapping heavy punishment especially when the special circumstances of the 'slap' indicated that Harbhajan was in a particularly vulnerable situation... and with Sreesanth wilfully or otherwise going around pouring oil on burning embers. Sreesanth's case also needs to viewed sympathetically but perhaps he will learn that he can no longer carry on making faces to his opponents and risking their wrath during a tense tournament.

Shouldn't Amrish Saheba been asked to depose before the disciplinary committee and give his views. The match refree, it appears, failed to look into circumstantial evidence surrounding the slapping incident. It is BCCI failure which now reflects its administrative ineptitude and shows lack of professional ethics.

What's wrong in what the umpire said to the Newspaper? Mr. Saheba was not asked by Match Rafree so he did not say anything to him. In a press interview he told the truth and for that you will punish him for two games while idiot Shreesanth goes scott free. What kind of rubbish BCCI Stupid Secretary Niranjan has to say. Punish the people who are disgrace to Indian Cricket not the Umpires who tells the truth.

YOu are absolutely stupid to make the above comments mr. Patel. The umpires have to conduct themselves and they are not supposed to give interviews to the newspapers on any player. There is no need for the match referee to ask anything. Anything wrong that happens on field can be reported by the umpires to the match referee and not to the press. When you are given a responsibility, holding a post, there come certain DOs and DONTs along with it. you have to strictly adhere to those DOs and DONTs.

The problem is with REDIFF. They allow all and sundry to air their views without going into the merits. Letters should be published only after editing by the Board.
