I like this mans honesty.. he does speak tough and he doesnt try to be diplomatic... also hes not like greg who tired to take all the credit all the time... INternational Sides done need coaches, they need managers actually.... just to iron and pick up the small deficiencies and all.... Kirsten being part of a fantastic ODI and test side of the recent past will bring about a lot of real practical ideas....
Gary Kirsten is obviously a good coach even though it might be hasty to say that he is a coach in the same league as the Late Bob Woolmer. He needs to be given time to adjust to Indian culture and the temperament of Indian players and also the intrusive media!! He will surely blossom with time...
Kirsten also comes across as a balanced and consensual driven individual; someone who will carry others along with him...his decision to allow Robin Singh and Venkatesh Prasad to continue indicates his lack of selfishness and also his consensual style...a control freak like Greg Chappell would have fired both robin and Venkatesh Prasad along with Lalchand Rajput.....there is no way a Chappell would have allowed parallel power centres...Kirsten really comes across as a person who is very secure and confident cos control freaks basically hide an inner insecurity and inferiority complex!! Way to go Gary, sure India will become the no.1 team in test cricket and no.2 team in ODIs soon!!

Iam 100% agree wiith u but we Indian want to see India became No.1 team in Test as well as in ODI
I think Gary is very good coach but at the same time he himself should not burden himself in managing in all departments(batting, bowling and fielding)as Gary is not interested with Prasad and robin in support staff.both Prasad and Robin should retain in support staff so that gary burden may loose and he can only concentrate on batsman. Moreover it was just because of Prasadand Robin who improved the bowling and fielding of team since 2007 world cup.I think BCCI should not axe them in the support staff and they should give permanentroles in the support staff.
Gray is a good coach, we should not criticise him, he is just a coach like any ordinary man whether he is brown or white.he did a fantastic job in last couple of months.I think india needs a man like him.well done gray keep it up.
Saurashtra has won the Vijay Hazare trophy, one-day version of ranji trophy this year. This is done with another achievement of reaching the Ranji Semis this year. They r the emerging team of the year. Cheteshwar Pujara (man of the series during the previous junior wc), Ravi Jadeja (hero of the current junior wc team), Rakesh Dhruv, Odedara, Jaydev Shah r heros of the team alongwith veteran Sitanshu Kotak.
Why not a single player is considered for selection. Is it a biased selection by Vengsarkar?
U r right mr.veerapuram.foreign coaches r useless from indian cricket point of view.Earlier we saw simpson( i think azhar was the captain that time) as consultant.then greg adn now gary.both greg and gary r appointed by tHE SINCEREMOST SERVANT OF INDIAN GREATEST SELFISH CRICKETER IN INDIAN CRICKET HISTORY.GREATEST SUNIL.WHOLE country knew that sunil became richer by few millions through appointment of greg and gary.BCCI KEEP it up.

Mr.Heroraja or whatever...i wud like to remind u that one of our most successful coaches was also a foreigner, John Wright...
Kerala is well-known for football & athletics.... but bcci is avoiding kerala guys bcoz of narrow mindedness... recentlty only they picked one person..sreesanth... there had very good talented players in kerala team(bowlers ananthapadmanabhan, ramesh etc Jbatsmen Jayaram etc.).. but bcoz of regionalism they didnt give chance to them)

yes. even players from Saurashtra are not considered for selection when the same team has reached Ranji trophy semi-final and won the Vijay Hazare one-day trophy.

you cannot blame kumble for it. cmon, kumble is in the team since 18 years. despite that so many spinners have got a chance - piyush chawla, sairaj bahutule, hirwani, kapoor, chauhan, murali karthik, powar, etc. big list. mebbe u can blame the board, selectors. but y kumble yaar ???

First of all kerala is the place where politics happens in full swing. The player mentioned by you would have not got a place because of the politics in kerala. First u guys dont go for strike and thinking about improving ur state. Sreesanth is one bowler after one year he is still struggling to bowl in right length. Compare sreesanth with ishant,He is just 19 years old and he is able to york the ball. can sreesanth bowl one yorker ?. He is still in the team because of the luck. He manufacture aggression it is not in him. He can think about acting in some movies... he is aTotal waste of time...
