The ICC Board agreed to the inclusion of an ICC World Twenty20 competition at a meeting in April 2006.
It was agreed that the inaugural event would take place in South Africa in September 2007, with the second event scheduled for England and Wales during the ICC's Centenary Year in 2009.

Ponting helps Team India

All Indian fans should really thank Ponting for his arrogant remarks on the Indian team and the fortcoming ODI series. His remarks had come in at the right time when our young players are almost carried away by the hype that is created in this country after the T20 win and the historic celebrations thereafter. Ponting had really pinched the boys and had waken them up from the nap what would have possibly become a deep sleep with unrealistic dreams. These youngsters would now want to prove Ponting wrong by coming out with their best performances and Iam sure they are all set to produce excellent cricket.

TRULY SAID. now its totally upto the exp. players to make the way to rock this series.. if they fails the it would be vey difficult coz its totally a differnt ball game u need consistancy, brain and last but least have to take wickets and make runs if u want to win the matches otherwise aussies can knockout them as the captain said they r defending ODI AND TEST CHAMPS.

Aus vs India
by kumar on Sep 28, 2007 09:14 PM

I think the pressure is fairly and squarely on Australia.

They are without McGrath, Warne, Gillespie.
Most of their bowlers except Lee have not had a good exposure on Indian pitches.

Batting also misses Damien Martyn who steadied their ship many times when they last came to India.

Besides, some of their current team members are carrying injuries like Shane Watson, Hussey etc.

This would have been ideal time to exert more pressure on the Aussies if India played unchanged.

But they have now brought in old players balancing the advantage we held.

And Australia will look to grab it with both hands.

Anyhow Good luck India

May the best team win
