again doing same mistake

by kamal rohra on Sep 27, 2007 11:57 AM | Hide replies

India Won the 20-20 WC appreciated.. but again we are doing the same mistake by giving them too much value as we are doing from last 25 years. Media is responsible for all hype they are creating for these cricketers. And eventually we will find that these players also playing in pressure as we are increasing our expectations. And why are govt. giving money, I don't think cricketers are poor. Better give money to freedom fighters whom we have seen struggle for even 2 times food. BCCI is there to give them prices why should State govts. BCCI is earning thats why no problem even they distribute 50 crores. Why should govts... 5 lacs is more than the annual income of normal middle class person..

When whole of india is celebrating the T-20 triumph of india... the 50 unfortunate sons of indian cricket must be feeling isolated... i think they can't even enjoy this... because they are not and cannot be part of this. They must rueing their luck to join ICL , specially after BCCI declaring there own brand of 20-20 format.

RP Singh converted himself fom ordinary to a lethal bowler !
by uncle shame on Sep 27, 2007 12:51 AM  | Hide replies

RP Singh gave the brave performance. But RP Singh converted himself from ordinary to a lethal bowler. It has been an impressive performance from RP Singh since the tour of eng. More important thing and a lesson to others is that prior to his comeback to intl ckt, he was slow like irfan. But after he was dropped from the team, probably his stint with MRF academy, gave him the results. He not only improved his fitness and also increased his bowling speed. It is good to see a youngster like RP making efforts like this. From him, other bowlers have to learn a lot. eg. Irfan has been a slow bowler since his initial career, he shud work out just like RP to improve his speed so as to become more potent bowler. Another lesson for Munaf - who was originally a speedster, but got his speed relinquished somewhere. He shud also get his speed back and learn the lesson to remain fittest.

Compare this with Munaf. He was supposed to be India's answer to Bret Lee and Shane Bond and look where he is now. Part of this was media hype and even before he had made his debut there were articles mentioning that he bowls consistently in 140s and his aim was to bowl 150kph. Total BS. Probably he may have bowled a couple of deliveries around 140-142kph. But his speed has now come down to 125-128kph mainly because he is totally unfit. I dont think he should be selected again unless he bowls at 138-140kph.

Very well said, Sawant.

It is so good to read abt the average age!!

These oldies should gracefully walk into the sunset!

Let this team play from now on without a single 30plus player.

They'll fail, succeed but they will learn.

This is the only hope for Indian Cricket.

Yes, Rahul Gangu and Tends were great players but are old and can't do things they did before.

Unfortunately, no version of viagra has been discovered which makes old player perform better of the field!!

So please "seniors" go home play with your kids and teach them Cricket!

Oldies, Take a hint from SRK. He could have very easily played the role of one of the "girls" on the team but chose to portray the Coach.

I think you should also retire from putting your useless comments here. You are asking the players to retire at 30? Why do you think a 30 year old person cannot perform as well as a 22 year old? Sachin even at 34 fields better than Sreesanth, RP Singh,Powar, Zaheer and Sehwag. You are nuts to even mention this
