Why Gujrat reacted so Late
by mrinal upadhyay on Sep 26, 2007 10:02 PM  | Hide replies

is it coz it was a Muslim pair of boy's that made Gujarat Proud. or is it that Mr. Modi was BUsy in making strategy to save his chair in coming assembly election.
Do you think just 5 lac each make it. even joginder sharma got 20 lac for his effort. can accept it from Jharkhand that they gave 5 lac to Dhoni and jharkhand is not amoung the rich states. but Gujarat is one os the richest state.

although cricketers shud b given due credit for their achievement, the fact is that they r very rich. and IF THEY NEED TO BE encouraged by way of money, just give it from the bcci's tijori ONLY or that of stage ckt association's tijori and NOT from the govt's exchequer which is the common man's hard earned money.
and dont bring communal angle to the episode. u probably shud know that ppl celebrating india's victory in jammu (it is in india) were attacked.

first of all, giving individual prizes by state govts.is stupid.

it should be by BCCI and equal to all.

the chief ministers are using public money to create sympathy for themselves.

You are right. All the players are experienced. Yuvraj is more senior that Younis Khan. Experience counts.

it's not like that, they may not be new faces
but the same time they are not experienced guys
johinder sharma, rohit sharma,
and one more thing it's entirely new format
even the so called experienced player will take
their own time to settle and play the shorts
whereas yusuf hit a six in the scond ball he faced in his debut that too in a big match like
this , you cannot expect this from the senior
palyers.

Seniors

The statement "The Indian team did well EVEN without the seniors..." is a wrong statement. It should read as "The India team did well BECAUSE there were no seniors..."

This is how it should be. You shouldn't expect anything from politicians because it is not their money. Whatever other chief Minister's did shame on them?

It's people like you who shows muslims in bad taste. Your post is purely communal. Why are you mixing muslims and sports? We couldnot have won without pathans. This is a true India where all the Indians are Indian first and then hindu or muslims. Modi has already rewarded 5 lacs for each pathans. And, when it's a law that he has to reward players? Your favourite TN CM karunanidhi hasn't rewarded anything to karthik, any words? Don't worry buddy, Modi is here to stay for long inning. And people like you have a lot to worry. Jay Hind

People like Modi have robbed the name of RAM from the Indians and patented in the name of a political party.Say "jai sreeram" and make yrself identified with a party whose ideology one may not cherish of. SO ON SUCH FORUMS MODIs and his ideology be kept away and let all the Indians whether hindu or muslim remain united at this great moment of history---CHAK DIYA INDIA

FOR INDIAN MUSLIMS VS HINDU
by kamal bajaj on Sep 26, 2007 07:53 PM  | Hide replies

Myself kamal bajaj from Chandigarh also Hindu. To Hindu communicity especially VHP & RSS, you know the performance of Indian Muslim Players against our Arch-Rival Pakistan, then you will realize that all the Muslim Players performed better against Pakistan then Hindu Player e.g. Pathan Brothers in T20 Final, in England Azhar made valueable 58runs against Pakistan and that was the vital runs to defend the modest total against Pakistan. Hope you can understand my point

dont bring vhp or rss in this discussion. they r not against the muslim cricketers but some repeat some fanatics. firstly u shud know that persons celebrating indian victory over pak were attacked in jammu (and irony that jammu is in india and not in pak).

Current Indian team
by kumar on Sep 26, 2007 07:29 PM  | Hide replies

It is an established saying that one should not change their winning combination.

But, our Indian selectors jumped the gun against better judgement once again by announcing the team for the one-dayers against Australia without even waiting for the result of the 20-20 cup.

In so doing, they have eliminated chances of keeping some of the cruical members of the team against Australia.

India therefore it seems might struggle against the Australians due to the lack of foresight and planning on part of the selectors.

Ideal opening should have been Viru and Gambhir, but to accomodate Ganguly, Sehwag has been sacrificed. Needless to say, Ganguly cannot face real fast bowling and will give away runs in the field. But do selectors care?

Gambhir who is an excellent opener will have to pave way for Tendulkar to open. Sachin is still good for the team and should bat in the middle order.

Dravid is badly needed to lend the backbone to the team should things falter, and with the burden of captaincy off his shoulder, he should be the one to watch out for.

But in accomodating the 3 players, the batting line up will get modified to suit each senior player sacrificing the need for the team.

Bowling department might also undergo changes.

Rohit Sharma, Joginder, Yusuf and other youngsters who will be omitted will have to wait their turn.

I hope these players bide their time and not lost heart as their time is coming very soon
