Why this anger?
by rajesh t on Sep 25, 2007 06:35 PM  | Hide replies

Pakis should accept that they were beaten by a much better side.Dhoni was a calm and composedperson. He behaved in a very dignified manner during and after the match. The Pak captain on the other hand was an overconfident person after restricting India to less than 160.He thought that his team would win comfortably.Poor chap did not know the never say die attitude of Dhoni's devils. He lost the cup.He also made that senseless statement about thanking all muslims of the world. His immaturity was highlighted in those 2 incidents.
Next time when he faces India he should know when to open his mouth and what to blabber out......Hope he is reading.
As for the people there they were right in one aspect---Younis and Afridi were so overconfident of blasting us that they played reckless shots.Dhoni was able to apprehend this before and placed field accordingly.

CHAK DE INDIA

to repeat this ... pak did play well in the finals and through the tourney. both india and pak did exceptionally well, beyond the dreams of thier respective citizens. pak shouldnt really curse at misbah, because he gave them hope in the first palce. had he been out for that marginal lbw decision in rpsingh's over, it would have been curtains for pak.

Shame on Shoaib and Asif and all Pak Cricket Lovers and Board members to hide them behind pallu.

You are wrong Chetan. If india had lost.Dhoni would appologize to all Indians all over the world and would not bring religion into this. Don't forget that we being Indians, are very well educated.Chetan, please talk stupidity.

Pak Media not dignified in defeat
by Sourav Singh on Sep 25, 2007 05:16 PM  | Hide replies

I read the story describing the final match between the two cricketing stalwarts India & Pakistan in Dawn the Pakistani english daily.
Contrary to what is being dished out to the readers I would like to submit that India beat the best T20 teams on their way to the Finals namely Australia, South Africa, England and of course Pak ( whose much touted bowlers could not bowl straight at the stumps... basics not right????).
Indians held their nerves even when playing without their best bowler Zaheer Khan and their batting trio. Virender Sehwag was also rested because of injury whereas Imran Nazir was played even when carrying an injury. This speaks the volumes about the hollow confidence level. So why blame Younis for his failure? As far as Afridi is concerned the Indians never slowed down after losing its two hard hitters Dhoni & Yuvraj who are possibly better players than the much touted Afridi.
Come to think of it the Pakistanis were beaten twice by India in the tournament so learn to be dignified in defeat...
and of course cricket and religion dont mix,Shoib Malik must be informed.
India won the match ......
Man of the match Irfan Pathan (Indian).
I hope my letter will find some place ......
Thanks..
Yours etc....

Why shohab Malik in his speech during award function told as"thanks to entire muslim world".This is not good, childish or narrow mindedness. He dont know among muslim countries only pakistan is playing cricket.yes Bangaladesh is there.then rest of muslim world not a single muslim country is not interested in cricket.
So please tell Pak captain not to use such words.Indians love him and his cricket. In sports no religion.

As this article has been posted earlier (24 sept, 23.59 IST) than Indiatimes (25 sept, 12.29 IST)?

Deafening silence
by Vishvaksenah E on Sep 25, 2007 05:04 PM  | Hide replies

Shoab Malik's sentence was heard by lakhs.
But what is surprising is that no print media has mentioned it.

Just imagine what would have happened if Dhoni told the same sentence, thanking Hindus all over the world....

All hell would have broken lose in the print media.
There would have been numerous columnists condemning the "communal fundamentalist, retrogressive sentence"

But as the sentence of Shoab Malik thanked the Muslims all over the world, there is a deafening silence
of the self appointed "ultra secular taliban-like fundametalists".

Long live secularism!
Long live Gandhigiri!

thats not true, you should read the times of india dated 25th septembe 2007 carefully. it is mentioned clearly that shoaib in inverted commas. there just isnt any discussion or criticism on it. i waited the whole night to read what criticism would follow. i guess the newspapers will print it later on,

I agree with u for the sentence "If Dhoni told the same sen.,thanking all Hindus all over the World" these media are serch in such intresting topics only & am sure the public;mostly playing politics gather a mob & would have burnt/stoned the house of Dhoni(players)

Print media is dummy. They wake up only when someone gives them a left leg kick. You can surely find some momments tomoro morning. If you dont get some news tomoro then left leg kick is not hard enough. Keep kicking...
