by pery pr on Oct 03, 2007 07:31 PM

Ganguly - 30% (aggressive, quite acceptable)

Dravid - 28% (quite soft, some how OK)

Dhoni - 40% (aggressive, acceptable)

Sachin - 02% (not capable for captain and also not capable for indian team now..)

What will he impart when he was himself a failure as captain
by pradeep agarwal on Sep 17, 2007 07:20 PM

It is really surprising to notice the way lobbies are working to get their person for the job. sachin wwas a total failure as catain & will be better of to stay away from it.Kumble is most suitable for the job as stop gap before dhoni or Yuvraj takes over the job

SOURAV GANGULY - The right person for captaincy!!
by Joseph Judy on Sep 17, 2007 11:52 AM  | Hide replies

Friends.... I would like to share my opinion on the next Indian captain. I request you all to share your views.
Sachin Tendulkar - The greatest Indian batsman and rated as the second best to Sir Donald Bradman. However, I rate Sachin as the most unsuccessful Indian captain ever. During his tenure as captain, his decisions on the field were not so positive. Even he had one of the best sides in his time with the likes of Azharuddin, Jadeja, Anil Kumble, Javagal Srinath and so on but still he was not able to be successful. Frankly speaking he was very defensive like Sunil Gavaskar.
As far as M.S Dhoni is concerned I believe
its too early for him to lead the side. He need to be made Vice Captain for one-dayers (because I firmly believe that Dinesh Karthik has to be the V.C for Test team) so that he will get more experience. So considering all the scenarios, the only person who has the potential to lead the Indian team in both forms of the game is none other than Sourav Ganguly. He is the most aggressive captain like KAPIL DEV and a quick thinking captain like MOHAMMED AZHARUDDIN. With the tough tours piled up, we need a tough person who almost won India's second world cup 4 years ago, its Sourav Ganguly.

Your comments my dear friends?????

Dear Joseph Judy ,
Sachin is not successful as captain bcoz during his period of captaincy, the names u mentioned Azharuddin, Jadeja & mongia,Prabhakar all involved/busy in match fixing.that is the reason Sachin's captaincy record is poor.

I think BCCI should ask Rahul Dravid to reconsider his decision as far as Test Matches are concerned. He has done a good job in Test Match Format of Cricket.

As far as One day is concerned Dhoni can be a caption keeping in the mind 2011 World Cup.Ganguly,Sachin are any way not going to play 2011 World Cup. So BCCI must give Dhoni enough time to settle as caption.

For Twenty20, Dhoni is the Best. No change required.

Not at all, Dinesh Karthik, I think Yuvraaj Singh shoud be named as Captain of India Cricket Team and Dhoni should be the Vice Captain. Yuvee is young Agressive and talented and with the support of the senior players (Sachin Ganguly and Dravid) he will make some good in Indian Cricket. and to be very frank Sachin has not have the best team in his time.

Poor Gui,
Sachin should be opted for the captaincy. The reason which you have given for sachin's unsuccessful for captaincy is fools paradise. This is a mathematical / real darkness which covers the mind of most persons, and they act as KOOP-MANDOOK. That is the problem with you. Get medical and natural treatment.
In addition to match fixing there was other problems. Discover!

hey, this is not test or even one day match, here run a ball is required. do you people still thinking ganguli such a record holder of poor strike rate even in one day cricket can hit a ball or scoring with atleast run a ball. if he is there we cannot approach even close to target score or setting a high score, mind it.

Small snake Dravid gobbled by Python Pawar
by sudhir dhar on Sep 17, 2007 08:18 AM  | Hide replies

Dravid just wanted to put pressure on Pawar/Vengsarkar by playing a game of resigning, thinking Pawar/Vengsarkar will PLEAD him to reconsider.

Pawar said OK, and poor Dravid hanged himself with his own rope.
True it is, people who think they are smarter than others, get outsmarted in the most unlikliest situations.
End Result=Dravid resingns as captain, because he could NOT HANDLE THE PRESSURE , like a sissy.Double whammy for Vengsarkar.

One political snake, trampled by another political python.

Don't put your words simply, Dravid is quite good when compare to sachin.
Sachin is the selfish snake, he won't do anything for india team, sachin is dangerous and poison. Bloody Vengsarkar is full support for sachin, whether he is playing or not playing, this bloody f**king vengsarkar and sachin are very close.

Sudhir,

Y do u have to copy/paste ur message in each/every article by Rediff. R u a BCCI representative, or Pawar's boyfriend.

Come to life man, what are you getting by posting against Rahul, who is one of the gentlemen in Indian cricket team. Leave it to the BCCI officials to ponder over the selection of next captain/scapegoat.

Morons like you will never learn. Rahul Dravid may be bad/good captain but he is a good gentlemen, served the game 100% and gave 100% whenever he played for India.

Ganguly?
But Ganguly would be a idiot if he does it again. He should learn from Dravid, how clever the snake rahul dravid has again RUN away from a fight.Saalaa, after World Cup defeat he should have resigned. But he stayed on as he wanted he to leave on HIGH after defeating ICC#9 Bangladesh, like he defeated ICC#Windies. Then he defeated England by fluke as Rain and bad umpirinf stopped a England victory at Lords.

Gangult dont be stupid, just play like Dravid, not for the team , but for self, dont get out, bore the bowlers to sleep.
