And now Dravid is realizing the pressure Ganguly shouldered as capatain and hence these comments! Anybody can remember that Chappell was/is Ganguly's favourite batsman and he took advice of him during his lean period and subsequently recommended him as coach for the good of Indian cricket. But Chappell could not feel the psychology of Team India. So he faced the downfall as coach of India. Dravid can well realize what Team India was during Ganguly's captaincy and what is now!!

Dravids record is atleast equal to Ganguly's if not better. Moreover, Gnaguly was winning because of Dravid and Sachin.

So u will also accept then that Dravid won the England series because of Ganguly, Karthik Sachin and Zaheer, and dravid had nothing to do with it and he will not take credit for it.

What can be a better observation from an educated well paid when he calls him a coolie.
Ganguly was not winning ever. It was India that was winning. It was because of Gangulys captaincy that India was winning.
A person who calls himself a coolie and who terms teams win as Gangulys win can not be expected to have much inside his head.
He got his job by cramming a few algebra formula and thats all.

Who cares about records. If records are to be beleaved then Azar is better captain than Kapil,Gavaskar, Wadekar & Pataudi and now u want me to believe that.
There are many more factors and qualities which make a great captain/leader than just stats.

Dravid Vs Chappell
by ajay dixit on Sep 03, 2007 04:29 PM

Dravid was a chamcha of chappell and now look at his statement. He prefers wright more than chappell.Politics inside the selection panel enters also in to the dressing room creating a disharmony, divide and rule policy between seniors and juniors and the millions pumped in by BCCI goes in vain with a loss at champions trophy and WC and they will still continue to find some silly excuses.

Re:Dravid and being an Indian
by John Bosco on Sep 03, 2007 04:22 PM

Dravid has quietly now let it out that Chappell did not adjust to being an Indian.I thought this was a cricket team. What is it Dravid is trying to say? What he means is that Wright also came in with big ideas but quickly adjusted to the big ego's of Indian cricketers. This is a chalta hai policy.Chappell did not do this.He was not "Indian"in accomodating the Indians in the team.Maybe Dravid is implying that Chappell was brusque and tough which did not go well with the team.I wish sound cricket or man management reasons are given and not Indian stuff like this.Dravid is clever slowly releasing a statement like this after Chappell has gone.

wright r chappel
by amit sharma on Sep 03, 2007 03:56 PM

Our indian ppl is responding foolishly, like as usually they do ( can be seen in election,reservation,temple/mosque) dravid never said chappel was wrong on cricketing r managerial aspect, he said chappel did not adopt the situations, chappel's cricketing, administrative , strategical moves were well mindfull, if ppl will see in short period (22 months) wht chappel got was never less than wht wright got in 5 year tenure, ppl will see that this indian team will struggle in One dayers, if they will win one match , then loose 2-3 next match bcoz every time they cant make 300 n with old, unfit, playing for personal 50/100, players not only present of Indian one dayer is black but also future, wht chappel was saying but we did not follow, bcoz our so called indian cricket awared ppl did not realise, if we hav to loose 3 matches in 4/5 then we must go with youngs, so that our future team will build, ppl forget that india won around 18 matches in 24 during his tenure with the help of young players, but fact is that we can forget 7 failure in 10 matches of so called great players , but we criticise the 2 failiure in 5 matches of young players, thats why we r at bottom , indian team will be like this unless they adopt as chappel well said, we want to b like aus but run cricket like zim, n our cricket fans r as such
