wonder why test cricket is considered the ONLY classic form. Test cricket itself is a shortened form. Originally it used to be two innings by each time without regard for time. Test cricket was developed for 5 days so that it could be scheduled properly, the same way with T20 now being scheduled to be a 3 hour game. Different skill sets may be, but nothing to be frowned against.
I remember when I was small I used to play Gulley cricket which was more like T20 format. Then why people call it harmful....You should take this format as any other as it also requires skills, you cannot play T20 just like that.....Indians have proved that they had the best combinations of skills in World Cup for this format.Tell me frankly if Austrailia would have won the T20 World Cup the comments would have been something else.....We should appreciate the game in right spirits....not as we feel like.....WE should encourage this as we have the right talent and timming when we play the game.....
I fail to understand why all of us in have to take a moral stand on all issues in life? It seems that everyone is so concerned with the classical and the purest form of cricket, the holy grail, The Test Cricket that all of them have started appearing on channels of every possibility and making noises.
Nobody has indeed lost an opportunity of any possible kind to demean T20 cricket.
But apart from making noises nothing has been done. If all the ex cricketers are so concerned with Test cricket why don't they for once shut up and do something to improve it quietly!
Let us take T20 cricket for what it is, quick enjoyment and leave it at that.
In fact all old timer cricketers are scared of t20 like those test players who were scard of one day.Why? Becasue it will make public memory fade away from those players! Just for identity crisis these oldies are callign thsi and that to t20. T20 is the real cricket where gutts matter and true warm blood is needed instead of wasting compelte day on the name of classic shots boring entire public wasting time and money. Sidhdhu Pidhdhu etc all will be out of even history books due to heroism of aggressive players of T20 who have got tremendous public support and clearly shows this sit he game of time!
