AKASH CHOPRA should be in the Indian test cricket team. Apart from a good opener,he is a good catcher at short leg.In that position he very rarely turns his back when the batsman attempts to play on the leg side.
ur biggest attribute is ur mental strength..8 out of 10 tests versus the 2 best bowling attacks means something..some people have short memories! (arran and natasha well..ur kit bags are taking up too much space in my garage!!)
Going back to 2004, chopra was dropped as part of Ganguly politics. Ganguly's place was under pressure. So what he does, shift Yuvraj to opening slot and drop Aakash. What happens? Yuvraj fails...and Yuvraj was dropped too. Ganguly was able to retain his place in the team.

Ya that is perfectly correct, he is the part of the Ganguly's politics. One more player is the victim of the Ganguly's politics he is VVS Laxman.Sevral times Ganguly runout's him.But he is a good player and v wasted his talent.How one can forget his innings of 284 against Australia.

ankit Ji , to pick someone we need to drop a another guy. Common in any sports we can't make everyone Happy , with How many openers a team can play. in my focus India never had two teams for Test and ODI , in that angle Sourav would have prefered Yuvi over Chopra , since Yuvi always finds a place in ODI. But i agree sourav had a set of Players for him , but we should accept that he showed results with that players like Kaif , Bhajji, Yuvi, Viru , Pathan, why even Dravid. Before Sourav took the Captaincy Dravid was not in ODI team from 96 to 2000 he was left out for Titan cup and many , almost 7 tournamment he wasn't there . Only Ganguly made him a permanent ODI members by asking him to Keep Wickets. See every one does politics.
Can you people tell now Dhoni is doing politics " for drooping Dravid " ????? why you are not saying that. Forget history let us focus on Today . Please appreciate a Good Captian like sourav.
It is very difficult to make a come back now because the selectors are busy looking for fresh and young openers.He has done his bit with the opportunities provided.But unfortunately he did not make that BIG SCORE which could have cemented his place.

It is only wishful thinking, "Aakash!kash ye sach hota" but then u shud only thank BCCI for recognising ur whatever little contribution by aanouncing in gr-D category, better to "rest in peace" than to be waiting indefinitely and torbulently inside. read the wall and decide to reconcile than to torment urself. sukalp

Do U find anything wrong with batting and wicket keeping of Dhoni or Karthik. Parthiv had his chances but being selected by your connections in cricket world instead of your playing talent he had to go out and will not get another chance for sure as the present set of Dhoni & Karthik are the players who started from basics and have climbed the ladder of success. They donot have any godfathers.

on current form, parthiv can b considered purely as batsman also. The kind of form he has shown against all the opponents, and on all pitches, forget dhoni/karthik, even other regular batsman can not boast of it. He has opened the innings and also kept the wkts remarkably. What more u want! Remove the prejudicial thinking against him, judge his performances objectively.

Further a novice parthiv has proved his worth against Bolrs like Andre Nel. He opened the innings against Pak in Pak against Shoaib Akhtar and Mohd. Sami scoring 60 odd runs. Also scored against bolr like Bret Lee.
