contd...
........Attacking wicket keeper bastman Parthiv.....it is the most hilarious thing I have heard in my life......if the reporter reckons he is attacking....what terminology he would use for Dhoni... Infact seeing Dhoni and Karthik' game, India doesnt need a wicket-keeper for next 10 years for sure.....Parthiv sh ould stop dreaming about play for India again...he is better off with gully cricket...not matter what he does...

Don't forget Parthiv's 50 ball 62 he scored against Aussies some years back.He is not someone like Dhoni or Yuvi but still he can be called an attacking batsman.

Guys advocating Parthiv....get a life mates.... The bottom-line is.....Parthiv is out of Indian team after as many matches as Dhoni has played and you guys can see the difference....what Dhoni is today..and where does this bugger stand... Parthiv have had enough chances already and he could never capitalized on them.....there is not need to mention how many matches Dhoni has won for India, leave alone saving heaps.... Every cricket follower knows for sure...Parthiv doesn't stand a chance....so there is no need to market him anymore...
Just a simple question to Parthiv fans - Can he hit Brett Lee at square leg for 6 as Dhoni did.....playing shot like that needs acumen...does he have any?

DHONI WAS INITIALLY SUCCESSFUL IN SUB-CONTINENT PITCHES. BUT WHEN HE STARTED PLAYING ON BOUNCY PITCHES AND WHEN BALL IS SWINGING, HE HAS SHOWN HIS PATHETIC TECHNIQUE TO ALL.

hey dude cary...how ignorant can u be man..pls go and check his stats for last six months..all the tours he has been to with india A..and even now series again south africa A...he has scored big hundreds at strike rate of over 80(better than kaifs, badrinaths etc) in first class matches...and that too opening the innings..wen was the last time u saw dhoni or kartik playin big innings...parthiv has improved alot..and at the moment he really has a tough competition but then its gud for indian cricket..

EVEN IN THE DAYS WHEN NO ONE THOUGHT BEYOND DHONI, KARTHIK CAME IN THE PICTURE IN SA AND SHOWED HIS TALENT AND MADE PPL TO BELIEVE BEYOND DHONI. SIMILARLY PLZ DONT DISCARD ANY TALENT OUTRIGHTLY. NOT TO DEMEAN KARTHIK OR DHONI, BUT AS KEEPER, EVEN SPECIALISTS SAY THEY HV TO IMPROVE A LOT. PLZ JUDGE FROM OBJECTIVE ANGLE.

Carydrek, Perhaps it's time you get a dose of reality. I am not a big Parthiv fan, and as a vehement critic as yourself. However, he's scored six hundreds in as many games vs kenya/zim A and later Sa-A. To top he scored a 170 odd in 180 balls and 60 no in irani trophy against Bombay. He's been opening innings and has been very attacking.
As much as I hate him for his keeping, his batting has blossomed. Instead of promoting insipid batsmen like Kaif, why not give Parthiv a look? He's barely 20 and has long way to go.

The question is not whether he has squandered the chances given to him but at this point of time how good he is and whether he can deliver better than others. I think the answer to this question is a big YES. It is also true that he was pushed to the international arena prematuredly. But now he has become a complete batsman and has better strokes than Dhoni. He will be a very good asset in the ODI team. I think Parthic along with Yusuf Patahn should be included in the ODI team.

Yeah parthiv patel'sass can do better than his gloves..dude. India could have easily won that test series in australia if not for this bunny. Parthiv's 2003 is a past. At that time, he was too young n not mature. He has improved such a lot since then playing in domestic ckt and removed whatever flaws he had. Pl just look at his recent performances in ind-A teams against different opponents and on different conditions of various countries. he is not merely ghar ka sher like others. to sum up, he has shown his worth not only as keeper, but also as a batsman and as opener. think when young parthiv could handle bolr like andre nel with guts (made 60 odd runs as opener against likes of Shoaib Akhtar/Sami in Pak), how wud he perform after maturity. Consider the case of Bhajji. he was included in team when hardly 17. he did not perform to his hidden talent initially and was dropped but only to be considered for selection subsequently (after 2-3 years) and he became tormentor of the mighty Ausi. Agreed that time, Parthiv cud not perform to his potentials. He had some problem in his keeping during that period (but that bcoz, he was always kept outside the ODI team and was left without any practice), but that also appears to have been sorted out by him and imagine, he had been considered the best talent by ex-cricketers.
Very strange.... that Ganguly has been 'rested' for the tournament. What has he done to deserve the rest? He has hardly strained himself. He should be made to run.....
