The telegraph on October 8 th report says
Assistant secretary Snehasish Ganguly%u2019s role will also come under the scanner. There has been growing pressure from a section of the members for his resignation. Snehasish has conceded to having introduced Pradip Todi, younger brother of Ashok, to the police chief. He is also a director in their company.
It may be recalled that police had raided Todi%u2019s Burrabazar office in 2002 and arrested four persons in connection with a betting racket. Three computers and eight mobile phones were seized. Todi was interrogated by officers of the anti-rowdy section but was let-off.
Till late on Sunday, Snehasish neither took calls nor responded to text messages from The Telegraph seeking details of when he got involved with Todi.
If Snehasish%u2019s Todi links do go back to 2002, then the wisdom of his continuing to have business ties with Todi is bound to raise eyebrows as younger brother Sourav was then the Team India captain.

another awy of earning bread?

Captain Ganguly India South Africa

1st IND v SAF 09/03/2000 Nehru Stad. (Kochi),India won by 3 wickets

Now you can see Donald who was there in tests opted out,Clusner did not bowl but he was there in the squad.

Pollock,Kallis,N Boje did not finish their quota.
Cronje,Hayward,
Williams,Crookes finishing rest of the overs.

What was cooking up. Did South Africa wanted themselves to loose?

2nd IND v SAF 12/03/2000 Keenan Stadium India won by 6 wickets
What they are up against? same bowling despite earlier defeat.
Same bowling pattern.

4th IND v SAF 17/03/2000 IPCL Sports Complex India won by 4
wickets.

What is going on same bowling pattern. inspite of being two one down in five match series. This should be do or die match for SA. Same bowling pattern.

Real great captaincy by Ganguly and match management by Dalmia combine .He not only motivated Indian players but South African Players for India win . ROFL....

Todays report ------------------. New Delhi, Oct 19 (IANS) The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Friday registered a case against Kolkata-based industrialist Ashok Todi for the alleged murder of his son-in-law and computer graphics teacher Rizwanur Rehman in West Bengal last month.

Kolkata, October 03 Both politicians as well as cricket administrators in Kolkata have reacted sharply to former cricketer Snehashish Ganguly%u2019s statement on Tuesday that he had introduced businessman Ashok Todi to Police Commissioner Prasun Mukherjee after Todi approached him with a %u201Cfamily problem%u201D.
Minister Kshiti Goswami demanded today that the association between businessman Ashok Todi, the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) and the Kolkata police, should also come under the purview of the ongoing judicial inquiry into the death of Todi%u2019s son-in-law Rizwanur Rehman.
Meanwhile, Mukherjee%u2019s detractors are claiming that CAB Assistant Secretary Snehashish Ganguly and President Prasun Mukherjee were on the wrong foot of the ICC code of conduct because of their relations with Todi. Todi was investigated in 2004 for his alleged involvement in a cricket betting racket that had seen the arrest of six people who worked under him.
Former CAB assistant secretary Biswarup Dey cited the ICC%u2019s code of conduct which specifies that no cricket administrator can have links with people known to be associated with betting and match-fixing.
Dey told The Indian Express: %u201CSourav Ganguly%u2019s brother Snehashish admitted he knew Ashok Todi, whose name surfaced in a betting investigation three years ago.%u201D He added: %u201CIn 2000, the West Indies board did not induct an official because he had links with the betting world. Similarly, the Sri Lankan board refused membership to an official in 2003 on

on the same charges. This case is no different.%u201D
To add insult to injury, the Calcutta High Court on Wednesday made both Prasun Mukherjee and Snehashish Ganguly party to the Rizwanur case in a petition filed by his mother Kishwar Jahan where she has demanded a CBI probe into her son%u2019s death.
In court, Justice Soumitra Pal allowed Rehman family%u2019s counsel Kalyan Banerjee to serve a copy of the petition to Ganguly. Advocate Banerjee had argued that Ganguly%u2019s name should be included in this petition since he introduced Ashok Todi to the police chief. Banerjee also told the court by intervening into a marriage between two adults, the Kolkata Police had violated the fundamental rights of two human beings, as delineated in Section 21 of the Constitution. He said police officers had asked Rizwanur and Priyanka to part ways even before Ashok Todi lodged a complaint with the police.
Series of meetings at Writers%u2019
There was a flurry of meetings at the Writers%u2019 Buildings on Wednesday when CID Additional Director General Bhupinder Singh arrived to brief top administration officers of the progress made in investigating Rizwanur Rehman%u2019s death. Singh met Chief Secretary Amit Kiran Deb and Home Secretary Prasad Ranjan Roy and is said to have elaborated more on whether police officers tried to break up the marriage between Rizwanur and Priyanka. Later in the afternoon, both Singh and Roy spoke to Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee.
Singh told the media: %u201CWe spoke on

by Ramakrishna Panicker on Oct 22, 2007 12:24 PM

Like Kabaddi or so a change in Cricket is essential to overcome the fear from the mind of young Criketers. Why the Cricket World is not put the new comers to bat first and the more played batsmen are to come afterwards?

Hope not. Challenger is supposed to be the premier ODI championship in India but it turned out to be nothing more than another set of masala games in the past. Some ordinary players will perform well in these much hyped games and will be propelled into the international only to falter. When they have Ranji trophy ODIs,Deodhar Trophy and a number of other ODI tournaments what is the need for this tamasha games called Challenger.

mudslinging on symonds a shame on our culture n hospitality
by khurram khan on Oct 22, 2007 10:31 AM

the world holds us in high esteem, for our culture, and being hospitable is an integral part of it.let us not look at match refree, icc,
bcci ans sunny to discipline us.we must do it ourselves.the nation stands disgraced.it is befitting that symonds let his game speak for him.only the brave have it in them to express regret.let us as a nation regret for the mistake of a few misguided youths, and restore our beautiful nation to its glory.
