ICC's DEFINITION OF RACIST CROWD BEHAVIOUR
by Moses Godwin Joseph on Oct 21, 2007 10:35 PM

ICC's RACISM INTOLERANCE

ICC is anti-racist. It is admirable.
Why do Aussi team and Indian media state that a section of Baroda and Bombay spectators made racist comments on Andrew Simonds? Has ICC defined what are racist CROWD BEHAVIOUR? The general public did not know what race Simonds belonged to. In fact in India there are several tribals, but all are Indians and nobody cares what tribe or caste or race the other belongs. The cricket crowd were just enjoying the game. They were supporting the home team and therefore thy were boysterous against Australian high scorers. Simonds seems to have had an inferiority complex (of being booed as a tribal) and seems to have made assumptions and made an issue. On the play ground, he puts on a different appaearance, Hair style, face style, mouth style, lipstyle. He looked different and interseting to the crowd who seem to have enjoyed chanting. Under what yardstick is this racial? The Indians (if at all racial) have feelings gainst whites as the UK whites ruled them until Mahatam Ghandhi and co got them independence. They have no ill feelings against native Aussies or Africans. In fact they would be more friendly to the natives than the white aussies or Afrikans. The white aussie players asuume that Simonds suffered racist chants. And on what basis does media support this statement? The Indian media should educate the Australian media.

What racist chant was there? Did the crowd call by the name of Simond's Australian native ra

ZERO DEFECT (ZD) UMPIRING : ICC
by damodaran mohan on Oct 21, 2007 05:47 PM

there was nothing that alarming about the crowd behaviour except at one venue where water bottles were thrown on the ground by the frustrated crowd.ICC is unnecessarily blowing up a minor crowd behaviour as allegged racism. rather, ICC should ensure fair umpiring by use of the available technology help, especialli in T20 matches where a wrong decision can completely change the end result. at mumbai in the 7th ODI, robin utthappa was given out and murali karthik given not out . both the wrong decisions had serious bearings on the match. in the T20 match sreesanth was denied a wicket against clear nick and adjudged wide delvry. ICC must realise that in the shortest version of cricket like the T20 matches the decisions have to be ZERO TOLERENCE to umpiring ERRORS. accrdingly help of the technology must be made compulsory in case of doubtful decisions.

by vinod suvarna on Oct 20, 2007 06:44 PM  | Hide replies

the crowd should hit our players while they play bad cricket...every spectator should be given a gun and they should be allowed to shoot the indian players when they drop a catch or play a bad shot

Racism victim: WHO! HA! HA!

Racist Aussies are creating a fuss to get even with the Sub Continent; to avenge the DARREL HAIR incident.

A ballantly racist country which does'nt give equal rights to ABORIGINALS, have no no face to accuse others. They behaved like a RACIST state with Dr. Hanif.

GURU Greg did not like Ganguly because he always gave the Aussies back their tantrums. Mind the CEO of ICC is also an Aussie.

lohan, if you think so then, Mr.Modi may be wrong that he should not hate any particular community especially being a CM, but Mr.Modi is not keeping you guessing, but then Muslims were the most violent people and are the most violent people and North Indians were at the receiving end for several centuries. YOu just cant wipe off the memories with secular words that too from communist rascals...., but again Mr.Modi has to tread the path carefully without overdoing anything...

Dont care,

See there are few muslims who hate hindus, and there are few hindus hwo hate muslims, it does'nt mean they are ignored from there ability and talent.
You can see -
1) Mohammed Azharudin was captain for 3 world cups, no hindu was a captain for 3 world cups , no Ganguly no Tendulkno dravid no Kapil dev

2) Our President Was Muslim Abdul kalam Azad

3) Our 3 famous stars are amir , sharuk, and salman !!

You think Hindus crub or discard muslims, its not 100% true, You can yes show a single player in pakistan team, Except Danish Kaneria no one is there, ok show one christian atlaet in the team, In Indian Team you can see Robin Uthappa, Zaheer khan, Tendulkar from 3 diffeeent reliogions igonre idiot ministers.

hey here every one is blaming aus for racism but the fact is here that we have made a mistake and we should acknowledge that ,aus is better team then us and we should try to match them by playing not by racism .if symendos plays better then tendulakar its not his mistake .i know many of u will come to me and say that sachin is better but fact is that cricket is a team game and if ur team is not winning then ur nothing and during our great sachin era we ahve not won a single series against australia in australia even not in our whole cricket history our winning performance is below 40% ffor last 15 years in both one day and test against top 5 teams of worlld.and always rememeber cricket is a game played bt13 fools and watched 30000 fools so its hardly a matter for our cricket crzy nation and masses

You want 40K fans to play against them?

Idiot 12'0 clock, the racism charge is against spectators, not Indian players.

Nobody is denying that Aus is a better team but If Aussies think they are the only ones that can play mind-games, they are sorely mistaken!

If you want to play mind-games, we are capable of playing mind-games of our own as well. Why the hell are they taunting the crowd? http://www.rediff.com/cricket/2007/oct/19taunt.htm

I also agree the fact that the Aussies are biting their own bullet. They started playing mind games in the name of aggression cleverly in a way where they can escape from match referee's punishment.
But they are crying like innocents when it's used against them.

are more racist than Australians. Nobody in India wants to marry a dark coloured person. All those cream ads are downright racist and would have been discontinued in any other liberal country.

Just because a person likes to have lighter skin, doesnt mean he/she is racist.
It's just personal preference or their own subjective view of what beauty is.
You shouldnt be passing judgements on people and calling everything racism while having an ignorant point of view yourself.

Satish your an idiot and a moron.. Cynic is absolutely right.. Indians are freakin more racist than anyone in the world.. When a girl in India sees a dark colored guy, she detests and hates him.. Every girl wants to marry a light skinned or wheatish complexioned guy.. What is this if not racism.. So shut up and don't try to fight a losing battle. Instead of accepting the genuis of a guy who single handedly destroyed the Indians on the pitch, your coming up with stupidity and excuses. In all other countries dark guys are a novelty and preferred compared to white guys.. But in India dark guys are detested and criticised...Symonds is a good talented cricketer and those idiots who called him a monkey are dirty stinking monkeys themselves.Mind games are played on the pitch and the performance also should be there to back it up... Just taking rubbish and dropping simple catches and losing is not mind game.

Mr.Toronto, race is beyond color of the skin. My brother is dark-skinned than me doesn't make him a different race.

Skin color is a personal choice. Some people like Hale Berry, some people dont. Some like Denzel, some simply dont!

Maybe you guys in Toronto should hold it in and mind your problems (drugs for one) till your Canadian cricket team is worth something.

JM,

Dont be a smart ass and say race is beyond Color of Skin. Race is all about color of skin. Which world do you live in. If someone is racially abused, it is due to the color of his skin and or his religion. Who the hell cares what your brothers skin color is. Halle Berry is considered bi-racial. People like her or not has nothing to do with the color of her skin. If you wanna argue, have a valid point and don't come out with stupid and irrelevant points. Maybe you should walk down the streets of Mumbai and see how many junkies and druggies are there, before commenting on drug problems in Toronto.

Mr. Vincent and Cynic, ok u suggest indians are raciest. But in western countries, like in Aussie for example where i live, if a white, blonde girl sees a dark coloured guy, they hate them as well??? And dont think Aussie team is so decent. Every1 here knows the incident between Ramnaresh sawan and McGrath, its even shame 2 tell what that idiot Mcgrath said.

Cynic, it is people's preference on who they marry. I dont see many white blond, blue-eyed guys in the west mmarrying black girls either.

It is because of idiots like you that the word 'racism' has lost its meaning. If someone dyes their hair blond, then maybe they are racist too!
