One need not be a sportsman while playing Australia - Everybody knows the Kind of decisions Aussie umpires take in Australia (Including Shoulder before Wicket) and None of the Aussies shows the sportsman spirit!

The decision by umpire stands and KArtik doesnt need to walk as you suggest.
May be you should tell that to the Aussies, instead. They are the ones that dont like to leave even when the umpire gives them out, including their captain.

I remember the other side as well. Once Ponting called sachin back after he was given out on a caught behind but brushed his shoulder instead of the bat.

Watch the video carefully. Rickey Ponting did not call Sachin back. The umpire reversed the decision. Rickey Ponting was very upset that Sachin was called back. He said that Sachin once given out should not have been called back. Well if Ponting wants it his way then if Kartik nicked and the umpire felt he did not Kartik has every right to stay and bat. Common Rickey Ponting its your own words. Also when is the last time Rickey Ponting has walked out on nicking the ball and the umpire giving not out. I've not seen it ever. Very few players do this. So Rickey Ponting please follow your own advise and go with the umpires decision.

thr are tones of wrong decisions which hampered india's chances of winning many matches....like wise thr was one decision which went in favor of india....nothing to feel sorry...
guys be practical...dont be so stupid in this aggressive world...and specially in cricket against Oz's.....
