Racism is when someone is differentiated or demeaned on the basis of their race or colour. Example: When Indians were not allowed in places where the British frequented during the days of the Raj OR when a white man calls an Afro-caribbean man 'Black'.
I fail to understand as to how in the Symmonds' case the issue of racism even came up.
1. Monkey is an animal and NOT a race at all.
2. The skin colour of the average Indian is not significantly different from that of Symmonds.
There is no basis of racism here at all!! If this is racism then people who called Pataudi tiger are racists for calling a man tiger!!
The whole issue doesn't make any sense to me at all. It just sounds like a bit of Monkey business (oops! I'm being racist!!)

Can't agree more about racist Gujjus. Anywhere in the world, they block a seat, a place in the line, for another Gujju and you are blocked out because you are not one. They speak their tongue anywhere; start living in Gujrat, they want you to speak their tongue! This is the most self rightious, ostentatious and dubious community. In the United States, there are at least 25% Gujjus living illegally. They sell their passports and visas to another Gujju, claim to have lost it and procure a duplicate, to site an example of the extent to which they will go. Thanks to fingerprinting, it has stopped now. But to come across a Gujju anywhere in the world is an irritating experience.
