Dravid on current form is unfit to bat even at No.11. His confidence is at its lowest ebb. It's reflected even in his fielding. He deserves a break now. I do not undermine his contribution to Indian cricket. But on current form, he doesn't deserve to be in the team. The team can not afford any more failures at that crucial position, especially when we play with 5 bowlers. Let us see what a Rohit Sharma / Dinesh Karthik / S. Badrinath can do at that position.

You are not understanding the importance of Dravid's role in test & ODI. He contributed lot to our team as a player. Presently he is not playing well. O.K., you wish him to take some break but don't underestimate his ability.

if dravid is unfito what is role of ganguly zahir harbajan and yuvi for the team defeat what kind of great play/inngis these player played ganguly scores runs for safe for sefl his innings never helps team when team requres his service he will give catiching practice and get out he wil cause more runs to team by his poor fielding and poor running bw wkt he was survived for 2 yrs as non performing captain b'cuz of dalmiya if dravid . dravid anchored his success for captaiancy but he ditched dravid after his comeback ganguly dithed sachin to gain captiancy and he backstabbed dalmiay ganguly is cancer to team ind but nobody speaks agianst him b'cuz he has got infuence of poiticians.why not ganguly and great tendulkar sit out and make opening for gambir and robin? harbajan, zahir yuvraj are always busy doing chela's job see how the auss opening pair performig and it dravid has to go then gnaguly tendulkar zahir and bjji shoud also be dropped

Well said...Dravid does not deserve a place in team currently..even as 12 th man...after all he has scored a measly 80 runs in last 10 innings at an average of 8.00
For any hope of comeback ...Dravid should be asked to play in first-class level now and prove himself ...just like other star players like Saurav,Zaheer and Sehwag were asked by Chappell and Dravid a few years back...
The seniors and juniors seem to be having some mental block and the selectors and the media are to be blamed for this. Unnecessarily they have started the debate over the seniors and juniors before and during the series. Vensarkar, who asks the players for restraint, has warned the seniors through the media. As the chairman of the selection committee he should have showed more restraint than talking rubbish in the media. All these must have created a sort of mental block among the players. As a result the seniors must be looking at the younsters as their rivals for their places and the youngsters must be thinking that the seniors are robbing of their places in the team. They don't seem to be treating each other as the members of the team and don't realise that they belong to one team. The selectors should meet all the players when they select the team for the forth coming series and have an open talk. they should explain to the slected players that selection will be done only on performance basis irrespective of the ages. Insteas of warning through the media the selectors can have a stright talk with the players.
Indian team should be: With batting order 1. Souvrav Ganguly 2. Sachin Tendulkar 3. Irfan Pathan 4. Sehwag 5. Yuvraj 6. Dhoni 7. Uthappa 8. Yusuf Pathan 9. Zaheer Khan 10.RP Singh 11.Sree Santh 12.Munaf Patel
In this team we have 5 specialist bowler(Including 2 all rounder 1. Irfan, 2. Yusuf), 6 Specialist batsman. So this team can win as matches. In this team we have many hard hitters. So we can improve the run rate as well.

What a dumb selection. You do not have any regular spinner in the side. May be you counting Yusuf as spinner an Sehwag. I will rather have S Badrinath then yusuf and better fielders. You have five slow fielders in side Sehwag,Zaheer, Munaf, Ganguly and Sachin. fielding alone worth it 30a runs.

No ex cricketers including have not guts speak against dirty dressing / bcci poitics which is destroying ind cricket. Chapel showed mirror for dark side of ind cricket and was thrown out of team. Every one it was not coach but 11 players nonperformance as team was main reason for WC debace and dravid performed consistanty last 6-7 yrs under pressure and one series he is out of form ppl are question his commitment ? why superstars insists on opening ask the s/stars to bat at any no in every match like dravid is doing and then see the performance why nobody speaks a bout sefish opening pair both superstar scored runs taking time to build innings how aussies opening pair is performing then what is role of gnaguly, zahir, bajji and yuvi for defeat
He is not accepting any of his mistakes and he just won't learn. We conceded more runs in middle and death over because Dhoni didn't handled the bowlers well, changed Murli and Harbhajan when they were bowling well and brought Yuvraj Singh.
Again after a solid opening stand, he brought Pathan at number three when we needed someone like Yuvraj or Uthappa there.
In the next match, bring R.P.Singh in place of Shree Sant and Badri Prasad in place Dravid. We can also think of reverting to seven batsmen, four bowlers combination, which has been our major strength during Ganguly's captaincy.
India is divided country in to language that people speaks So lets do one think For every state make a teams according their mother tongue Play a national cup between them. The Team, which wins the national cup, will play as a India team for four years.
pl don't divided the nation. The selection is always 90% right. Only one or two player is not properly selected. but they also must perform otherwise they are not be selected next time.

I completely disagree. you are telling me we are in midget competition ?. I see we select 11 midget in cricket team. That too unathletic.
Aussie has two midget ponting and hodge but they are athletic and powerful.
You are saying this is best athletic 11 in india?. You are blind.
Every state is screwed up its elite class. We only see Elite kids allowed to play cricket and has money to sepnd on cricket field. India do not have scholarship system for poor kids. Simple as that.
So what you will see is midget selection from every state. These guys are energy deficient. They can't run or field.
I would select "smart" 11 well built punjabis. We need to bulldoze people. Indians are skilled and quick thinker and we need to balance with some Well build people especially in bowling department and middle order.
I hope we are done with big 3 midgets soon. Out of the 3 , only rahul dravid won so many games for india alone.
although sachin scored well in the last match. he has been a big liability in the past half a decade.
before his 400th match he was asked his fond memories in his career and this is what he mentioned
1993 - hero cup (kolkata) 1998 - Sharjah (against aus) 2003 - WC against pakistan
but does sachin have any fond memory after 2003? So for half a decade he has been resting on his past laurels. we've done enough favour for him by keeping him for that long time and thereby returned his favour. now why can't he go.
Ofcourse, his chamchas (fans) are always carried away because he has this uncanny ability to score big in inconsequential and unwanted matches.. matches either which way we would have won. especially the series in belfast, england ODIs recently.. he getting out in 90s etc.,
although played in england, those pitches were as flat as board. no life on them.
its a well known fact that he is not fit and has back and elbow problems.
i think if he has any bout of self esteem left, he should exit from the team.
but given his selfish nature, he would want to make more and more money. That is very much possible given the strong mumbai lobby of vengsarkar, sharad pawar etc.,

Take out his innings at England - India would've lost the series 7-0. I do accept that he's not 100% fit, but there's no proper replacement for him, as an opener and who can score as he does.

i would play dinesh karthik inplace of energy deficent ganguly. he is a fielding loop hole. Do not show your weakness to opposition. The minute they see ganguly , they know they can win against india. Ganguly polarise india even the indian team. No one likes him. They tolerate him.

Ganguli turned out to be the best Indian captain ever. His current form jolts the nerves of opponents and yours too. Being a Ganguly hater and for that matter being a Bengali hater, you will not achieve anything except ruining the team and the country. Take lessons from the past experience.

I would have Yusuf Pathan in place of Srisanth and parthiv Patel in place of Dhoni. Although Dhoni is known to be big hitter he can play lofted slog shots down the ground. The moment he is put on back foot his efficacy diminishes considerably. Parthiv Patel should open with Ganguly / Tendulkar ( only one of them should play in a match ) and Sehwag should come at no 3.

We will NEVER win comprehensivly against australia. Even if we win one match in a while, it will be due to some super individual effort or due to some fluke. At chandigarh, Australia were in total control and they gifted away wickets in the end under no pressure. Also, in nagpur, their main dangerman hayden was not there, else it would have been a target in the excess of 350.hayden never failed in any of the 6 matches.he has hammered our bowlers.accept the obvious. We are not even remotely good as australians..T20 is 30%skill and 70% luck...dont read much into that win. It is not a real tournament, in any case Australia gifted us the semis and pakistan also gifted us , especially the last over of the match

I agree. Australia is too good for any team in the World and that's why they have won last 3 World Cups.Every Australian from day one is told that no matter how great your talents are, if you not playing for team but yourself then you will not have any place in Team Australia. It's BCCI & Selectors who put lot of presuure on the players that if you do not perform you will be out. Look at Hayden couple of years back he was strugling with ODI form but Team Australia and selectors never lost faith and look what he is doing. When you are worried about your place in side everyday then it creats lot of pressure on players and he stops enjoying his cricket. A team should enjoy and laugh together and not worried about individual glory or stats. But in India that's the culture created by BCCI and our regional selctors over the year. The whole system is rotten so we will not go anywhere as long people who do not have played any cricket is running the show like BCCI. Is any of the BCCI Administrator has played any first class cricket. Many of them may not know more then a novice 10 year boy. So India just enjoy your occationl win or change the syste.
