ICL is a B-grade cricket tournament.Ironically ICL, which promised to change the landscape of Indian Cricket is being launched at a time when Indian Cricket is doing really well.ICL's primary motive was to cash in on the disillusionment among the people about the state of Indian Cricket after the world cup debacle.ICL is a good money-making excercise for ZEE Group which lost out on the telecast rights for Indian cricket. Now they want to settle scores with the BCCI.And players like cairns, wanderwath see it as an ideal opportunity to earn money in order to finance their future business plans(wanderwath wants to run cattle businees.read story on cricinfo.com).Now there are two sub-standard tournaments running in the country, the ranji trophy with some state sides completely weakened by players' exodus to ICL and the ICL(featuring players like kiran powar, robin morris all in their late 30's)a gud retirement avenue for cricketers. If u are thinking Subash Chandra is the messiah of Indian cricket the stop kidding.ICL plans to produce cricketers with Killer instinct. Are they gonna give them guns?haaaaaaahaaaaaaaaaaa

any coincidence that the indian team starts playing well after the world cup ? if the indian team does good only till the time icl is killed off, we'll know for sure whats going on.

BCCI sucks. they have first rate morons and are reactive, not proactive. what were they doing with all the monies until icl stepped in ? they claim they dont represent india, which is the worst insult possible, and we indians had to take that load of bullshit from them. they are a monopolist and are nothing but a bunch of politicians and businessmen at work with a few cricketers thrown in front as the PR people.

I m not completely with u. Forget money earning points. Rest is ICL may break monopoly of BCCI, wat BCCI is doing for last 5 dacades. It is only one Club, making monopoly for selection. If we remove last few years, earlier only Mumbai and south was havy in Indian Cricket. Now ICL may give challange to BCCI, I should give complete liberty to play and include all players, without any restriction, so that in india all corner may give good players.
ICL is set to originate international attitude to younger players and their sharpen their talents with financial incentives. This will certainly lead to a healthy competition of talents among young rising and experienced players.
But, it is begining and there has to be a well-though caring and grooming of the players.
WITH THE PASSAGGE OF TIME AND EFFORRTS PUT IN BY YOUNGER BLOOD, THERE IS BOUND TO BE A NUMBER OF SPARKS IN FAST BOWLING AND HURRICANE BATTING SKILLS REPRESENTED BY YOUNG BLOOD.
ATTITUDE AND LONGEVITY OF THE ICL WITH YOUNG PLAYERS ENGAGING EVERY YEAR IS THE ESSENSE OF ITS TEST TO SUCCESS IN TIMES TO COME.
IT IS A HECLUEAN TASK BUT CONCERTED EFFORRTS ARE A MUST.

I suggest we have test match type structure in ICL 20-20 format.
What I mean is that let both the teams play 2/3 innings in a day. The way in a 50-50 over match the total overs played are 100 and only 1 inning per team is played, we can in 20-20 over match (total over in a day = 40 only), we can organize with proper planning a total 120 overs matches within the 2 teams with each getting 3 innings.
Like a Test match the score total is taken of all the three matches, and then the winner is declared. If some1 raises issues over wear & tear of players we can allow change of max 2-3 players in a team from the same city.
The fun will be that for a three innings 20-20 match many ppl will like to flock down to the stadium and set glued to the TV set too. Plus it would be like a fight back kind of feeling which will add more momentum, thrill to the players, watchers and even the commentators and news releases.
Plus all it gives a player as many as 3 chances in the same day in the same stadium to win accolades or show character.
At a much much later stage more formats for e.g. keeping 6 team matches (3 matches with no team repeat)in the same day on the same stadium can also be organized. This would be the height of the madness of cricket and should ideally be organized @ third pary location like say Sharjaha or Toronto.

I m agree wwith u, But BCCI is placing many hardles to new pplayers, It is going to ban all the palyers who play ICL, Coz they afraid of the loosing monopoly.
