Cesspool of politics

None of our past heros will take up this job. They know how divided we are. Is it not a relic of colonialism that we obey only the white skinned? The moment an Indian takes up the job, we see him as South, North, West, East, Maharasthrian, Non Maharashtrian, Upper caste, Lower caste etc., especially when the going gets a bit jerky.

To unite us and be accepted we need somebody foreign. Some progress in sixty years. We are our own worst enemies, proved time and time again.

Use Fair and Lovely and get a western name
by Shankar on Dec 01, 2007 05:25 AM

Wanna be a coach? Use Fair and Lovely and get a western name. For Pawar, infested Australian wheat is worth twice as much as high grade wheat from India. Gulf News reports that he was solely responsible for replacing Rajput. Doesn't matter if Rajput gets better results. Doesn't matter if Kirsten did not even apply for the post. Doesn't matter if Kirsten is on record for insulting India. The jerks of Baramati keep electing him blindly.

why do we need such people?
by Kakes on Nov 30, 2007 04:57 PM

This white skin fixation of cricket is pathetic. After reading his musings in 1996 tour diary.. i feel terrible... its quite sad that we have to bring people with such derogatory outlook about our country and the sport and get coached our national team.. please don't feel once again taking up the oft beaten track of "the need for an Indian Coach". What's wrong in handing over the mantle to the kinds of Sandeep Patil, Roger Binny, Anshuman Gakewad etc.. who have well proven their credentials in previous exposures... Morevoer they are good at fitness front and man management skills too... the only need is for providing them a freedom to run their regime. Hope wisdom prevails..

lack of experiance for Gary as a coach
by sathyan swaminathan on Nov 30, 2007 04:22 PM

though Gary Kirstein is a excellent player, as a coach, his experience both national and international level is nil... He presently runs a coaching center in SA. I feel this is not a rite decision by BCCI. Instead we should have thought of Dav Whatmore or Present australian coach John Buchann...
