Lousy selection demoralizes youngsters...
by lutiya doobi on Nov 29, 2007 02:48 PM  | Hide replies

I read this on the DNA (a mumbai newspaper) website. Clearly, all these talented young players moved to ICL cause they did not get opportunity from BCCI.
It is an interview of Inzamam-ul-Haq who is leading Hyderabad heroes in the ICL. You can read the entire interview on the DNA website:

Q: How has the experience been so far?

Inzamam: It has been quite enriching. The talent these youngsters have is amazing. I am leading the Hyderabad Heroes and some of its players are good enough to get into any national side. I am particularly impressed by Ambati Rayudu and Anirudh Singh and am sure they have much more to give to Indian cricket.

dude... we cannot have 22 players in a team... right now our team is balanced... their chance would come if someone is out of form or injured...

Hope u r right. But BCCI has declared ICL a rebel league and banned ICL players from national selection. So probably their chance will never come.

Dravid is faar better than Ganguly ..
But now a days Ganguly is trying hard as he knows if he fails he is out .. Dravid knows he will be there in all test matches until he retires .. but ganguly will be taken out from tests ... In ODI both of them score kind of similar .. I d not remember when last time Dravid played well in IDI .. Ganguly is good in ODI .. Ganguly is worse fielder than Dravid ..but he can bowl and Dravid can not ...

the reason he said that I want to concentrate on my batting was not a actual reason. The actual reason everybody knows that Veng sarkar always wanted dravid out and even went to tours interferring in all the seelction related matters. he always has an hidden agenda to humiliate Dravid for some reason.
Interestlingly, now vengsarkar getting his own treatment back from BCCI.

Moral of the story, you will get what you deserve and for every reactino, there will be an opposite reaction. Today you can rule and humiliate somebody, but tomorrow you will be in the same seat humiliated by somebody.

Punjab Da Puttar Yuvi is suffering because of him.

Bengal Reserve Quota rules

Dada 1 wicket = 5 wickets
Dada 10 runs = century
Dada drops catch = good dive
Dada 1 run = 3 runs ran
Dada Century against Zim = Dada scoring Centuru against Australia
Dada saving 1 run = Dada saving 10 runs
Dada out on bouncer = Dad hitting sixer to Akhtar
Dada sixer to spinner = Yuvi hitting six sixes
Dada posing to camera = Dada replacing Shahrukh in films...
That is Bengal class
Dada is Bengal class not Test class.

nobody plotted anybody's ouster. this is all nonsense. We have heard this theory and I dont want to answer. But you have to remember that Saurav is not the only man who is dropped, but sehwag, bhazzi, zaheer all r dropped and are dropped for good cricketing reasons. Tell me wt saurav is contributing to the team with the bat when he is the captain? We know how he used to struggle with genuine fast bowlers and he went with no century for a considerable amount of time, almost 2 years. Same case with others.

Ganguly ? attacking? strike rate ? bowlers? What is his utility against potent attack. Just a baggage.
Chaddi Ganguly against Shoaib on Not so bouncy pitch and no other quality pacer to assist. What he will do on Australian bouncy pitches & Lee Tait like pacemen. Better send Yuvi Gambhir. Ganguly was protected by Tandulkar against pace bowling of Shaib Tanveer And Sami.He Faced 23 balls of Shoaib and holed out in 23 rd ball.how?
Ball no 35.1 Shoaib to Ganguly, 3 runs, Shoaib bangs it in short and angles the ball across Ganguly swats it from wide outside off stump through the vacant mid-on area awkwardly , what a shot that is, with no power so the ball stops in the outfield Ball no 39.1 Shoaib to Ganguly, FOUR, Ganguly moves towards a ball and cuts it into the gap between gully and point, he controlled that well and another four
Ball no 48.1 Shoaib Akhtar to Ganguly, FOUR, Shoaib bangs it in short into Ganguly from round the wicket, Ganguly goes for the pull shot, he doesn't control it and plays it in the at square leg
Ball no 48.5 Shoaib Akhtar to Ganguly, no run, Shoaib bowls a bouncer over Ganguly's helmet, this time Ganguly ducks, he left the bat sticking up like a periscope
Ball no 57.1 Shoaib Akhtar to Ganguly, OUT, caught at fine leg, Ganguly tries to do a Tendulkar and pull, the ball hurries on to him and he gets a top edge which swirls high in the air straight down Sohail Tanvir's throat at long leg

if u r comparing a player like dravid with ganguly then u r insulting dravid. cud u tel me any inning of ganguly in which he has scored at a rate of 75 under pressure situations. if ganguly has any inning under pressure to his name, which bought a win for india. i think ganguly should be replaced by pathan as an opener, since the runs made by the two has a littele difference but atleast pathan has a very-2 good strike rate than ganguly. while batting in the top order pathan has an average of around 34, which is too good for an allrounder. he is the most jealous and selfish cricketer i have ever seen in my life. he has divided indian team into groups. do u remeber the world cup match of india versus bangladesh in which ganguly has scored at a strike rate of 55 even when yuvraj is scoring at the strike rate of 90.

An Indian has done it
by jagat thoudam on Nov 29, 2007 12:10 PM  | Hide replies

A Kerala-based enginner V Jayadevan has devised an exclusive programme, known as the VJD system, for Twenty20 matches based on data from the World Twenty20 Championships and this will be used for the inagural ICL tournament.
The effort of 44-year-old Yayadevan was hailed by India's greatest batsman Sunil Gavaskar, and the BCCI have also decided to use it during the current season.

Jayadevan, an engineer from Thrissur, has devised a method that claims to be "superior" to the existing Duckworth-Lewis method.

Jayadevan's method is based on a mathematical model of the natural development of an innings through its various stages of settling down, making use of field restrictions, mid stages of stabilising, acceleration towards the end and the final 'slog' overs.

Based on the general scoring pattern and research of past matches, a 'normal' statistical curve has been developed. Regression analysis was carried out using 'spread sheet' software and a cubical polynomial equation was used for determining the scoring pattern.

Putting all this into use, Jayadevan has generated a 'target curve'. He also provides a 'target table' where the revised target can be computed depending on the percentage of total overs that were completed for different percentages of wickets. To make the entire process easy, a computer programme has been devised.

Jayadevan started to work on the VJD System in 1998 and gave it a proper shape in 2001. The D/L method has ledthe pack

Why no technological solution for this? Make sight screens of such material that can allow light to pass only in one direction. For batsman it should be black (or white during ODIs) and or audiences it should be transparent. BCCI should give this project to NASA - quick.

This is because I am not located in India. I have friends from all over the world, including Pakistanis. Pakis have lots of funny/horror stories about Pathans, as well as many Pathan jokes (related to their liking of the same sex).

Yes, software engineers are coolies and real coolies (read Pathans working all over the middle east roaming around in Pathan suits) are geniuses! That is a classic example of Pathani wisdom! All an outcome of too much akhrot in the brain! All the porters on airports of middle east wear Pathan suits!

Lotiya I am not here to prove anything to you. But the part of the worlds you have mentioned (AP, Karnataka, Tamilnadu...) has maximum number of software engineers here in Silicon Valley, or in all the big cities of coastal California (San Diego, LA, San Franciso, San Hose,...). Whatever I am, I am definitely not a Kabuliwala selling akhrots!

Lotiya, I am not telling anything to you because I have nothing to prove to you. But even the guys who live in Sri Lanka are called NRIs. Even though I am an NRI, but I don't wear it as a badge, and definitely don't boast about it. You are boasting about ur NRI status as though it is a Bharat Ratna! Good. Keep selling akhrots in Japan (cuz u quote too many Japanese proverbs).
