Crains does not know the ground realities, he has to read the mentality of Indian public, even Ranji trophy has local flavours, hardly any one watches it. Indian public likes to watch big names who r famous, I feel ICL has limitation in this regard. Only time will tell if it wud hit or flop, it can not judged in a single season.

even in domestic matches they play t20...but without stars..people wont come to watch cricket matches...
just watch this years challenger trophy..whole stadium is empty
kapil dev and kiran more will be the only people who will be watchin icl 20/20
ICL is managed by veterans like legendary Kapil and introducing world record holder Lara and similar players and this will give an opportunity to budding Indian players to develop their skill in the game and claim their place in Indian teams in future There is no point in stamping them as rebels and write them off They should be given a due place in the future team if they justify by their skill developed in ICL

Cricket competitions are not patents of BCCI. Look at the kind of riches the top few at BCCI have!; it needs to be given back to society.
ICL will really be a big hit......... and also coz of many local players in it there will be a huge amt of support for the teams frm the local support.......

Correct, but if neglected players get chances to play and also earn some money what is wrong? After all Cricket is not just a game, it is a profession.

EVEN THOUGH ICL PLAYERS ARE OLD AND UNPOPULAR THEY CAN PLAY BETTER CRICKET THAN SACHIN, GANGULY AND ESPECIALLY DRAVID. WITH DRAVID' PRESENT FORM HE CANNOT EVEN MATCH THE FORM OF THE TAILENDERS IN ICL..
DRAVID MIGHT HAVE BEEN GR8 IN HEY DAYS BUT IT IS TIME HE QUITS INSTEAD OF BLOCKING THE CAREER OF A YOUNGSTER.. THE SAME IS THE CASE FOR SACHIN AND GANGULY...
SACHIN AND GANGULY CAN PLAY A GOOD INNINGS IN ONCE IN 10 MATCHES.. BUT IT IS NOT NEEDED.. YOU NEED TO PERFORM IN ALL THE MATCHES...

I can agree to some extent about Drvid and Ganguly, but Sachin?? Go check your stats...He is still the most consistent n match-winning TEST/ODI batsmen we have.

It seems that Paul has no knowledge of cricket. Person like him are born to criticize anything and everything. Good, keep up the ugly work Paul!

Please dont start this sachin/saurav/dravid fight here also..... many forums already have that.... just talk about ICL or IPL here...

It will be a bigger hit because its a 20/20 format. ICC has restricted all countries not to play more than certain number of 20/20 matches(5 or 7 /year)
Also even if IPL starts i dont think they will be able to manage their schedule efficiently, because they will be mainly having contracted players and there's already talks of excessive cricket so when are they going to rest??????? ICC won't be cool with this.....
So overall its a lame attempt of BCCI to kill ICL which they won't succeed in.
