Essel group means successful business. They don't just start ventures. They see that whatever they take up, they complete it in a grand manneer. They take pains to do every thing with a lot of planning, foresight, organization, and most importantly training during the competitions. See how wonderfully they are mentoring the artists in SAREGAMAPA. Every participant's skill and talents are exploited properly, and developed enormously. I am sure they have such plans for the budding cricketers too in future.

Cricket is a sport not a well-rehearsed reality show buddy. There are no retakes in Cricket

I agree with you. The success of ICL depends on how well they offer it as an entertainment package to the public. I am very impressed with their going sofar. They have announced the launch date way in advanced and they are launching it as they planned. They have lauched the Zee Sport and opened it for free (for time being) with the live cricket series to get the international audience in the door. They're advertising hack out of the ICL league. I really like their ads for each of the team, as these ads carry a flavor of local cul*tu*re from each state for their respective teams. These are all the sign of very precise planning and methodical ex*ecu*tion of the plan. I am supporting ICL and subscribed Zee Sport already.
All these ICL efforts are all beyong the dream for Pathetic BCCI..

All these ICL efforts are all beyong the dream for Pathetic BCCI, who can't even plan on hiring the new coach. Guru Gary is hired but Gary is claiming in the interview that he isn't sure yet what's his start date for the team India job yet. And that he can not start until after Aussie Series..lol.. way to go BCCI.
In this country an Indian team practicing at the nets and Dhoni getting a haircut will attract a crowd in excess of 50,000. Poor ICL is gonna be a flop as the Indian Public with their herd mentality want to see the curent superstars (Sad truth...sigh) than a bunch of athletic cricketers like Hamish Marshall and Andrew Hall. Though I would like to see the BCCI monopoly end, the truth is that it is gonna take something extrodinary by ICL to bring that lousy org down. I have an idea for ICL. Why dont they recruit Shah Rukh Khan as the third umpire to attract the crowds? Or maybe Yuvraj Singh to carry drinks?
We r very happy tht, now the monoply of BCCI start to end.We all indians r back with ICL, very very congratulaion to Kapil dev and we all thanks To ESSEL group. Our best wishes r with ICL , (Ab ayega maza cricket ka).
They appointed 'G'reg chappel and he screwed up the team. They appointed 'G'raham Ford and he choked them big time. Now they are interested in 'G'ary Kirsten.
May be If he fails then they might look for 'G'ream gooch 'G'ream Hick 'G'ary Sobers etc.
Not sure what is eating BCCI and its team with 'G' factor.

rajput is not the coach. and to be a good coach you do not need test match experience, see buchanan for example, and the opposites like kapil dev and greg chappel who played a lot of tests, but were not that good at coaching

sorry 1 he played for india in onday matches under kapil dev. he was just like praveen amre and dinesh mongia. good for selection and bad for match and result. whatever it is essel group doing a good and teaching lessions for BCCI and their jokers. but they did wonderfull job contracting indian players like mongia, sriram etc we are blessed by god because we never see them in a international match. but some exiting talents like rayudu we realy miss them hopefully BCCI lift ban on those players . but unfortunatly we have to wait for the demise of mongia and sriram etc. thanks icl and bcci .
I am with you ICL. Essel group shd make their news channel zee news free to air. This will help them in advertising ICL better and put their views across to millions of sports lover.

Public support is what counts. If ICL is going to be managed better (all the signs are their already) and gives what Public wants, there is no chance for IPL. In anyway, ICL will set a benchmark for the pathetic BCCI for sure...

Aren't McGrath and Warne retired as well? Sachin and Dravid are the great players but that doesn't necessorily make IPL the success. The Bottom Line is the ICL should get success to force changes in Corrupt inefficient BCCI format. This is all good for the Indian Cricket
