Kolkata is a warzone ! Pakistani players are entering a den , I dont know how they can be protected in that city. They are definately not safe there, dont know how BCCI agreed to have the match continue. Look at the Cricinfo article on the security around the teams. I've heard from people the hotel is like an airport, and there will even be security personell in the adjoining buildings watching for people who try to watch the match from outside the ground ! Entering the real den all right !
This will give a better chance to dravid to score a test century at kolkata to parmanent his berth for Austriallia tour. Otherwise, with Sohiab , dravid could score in between 34 to 38 only. He has been dropped for ODI side, and if he fails to score in test, he will be dropped for test too.. I pity on that guy. Anyway, I want him to be in Ausuis tour

Patriot is one who cares for nation's interest and national team. Not one who manipulates cricket pitches (e g at Vidarbha to discredit ganguly even at the cost of ensuring Indian team's defeat; the Kokata was only a reaction). Again, patriot is one who cares for all Indians and not one who is comfortable with a foreigner showing middle finger to Kolkatans. Under these circumstances I consider Ganguly highly patriotic for doing whatever was necessary for breaking that sinful finger. Dravid opened batting at Karachi along with Laxman, overlooking Ganguly who was an available established opening batsman and led to India's defeat by a record margin. If with such attitude you can still talk of patriotism, one can only pray for saving India from patriots like you.

your Ganguly had huge stroke of luck during ODIs; had Kamran Akmal taken the two catches offered by Ganguly off shoaib, he would have had two princely blobs and would have been dropped royally. I dont think you know cricket else you would not be comparing Dravid with Ganguly. A player who has scored 10000 odd runs in ODIs knows only to play in the off side and never know to play short pitched deliveries. Pathetic. By the way, imporve your english bud.

Ganguly is proving to be lucky for himself and the team India. We want persons who bring us good luck and not cursed individuals who carry loads of sin and consequent bad luck. Being lucky was one of the criteria adopted by Napoleon for selecting his generals. I find whoever, be it Sahwag, Raina, Gambhir, who stepped into Ganguly's shoes, have bad luck chasing them. Even the persons who have taken him on viz. Greg Chappel, Rahul Dravid have lost their shine. This guy appears to have some divine protection. Anil Kumble has rightly chosen to have him on his side.
The protests at Eden that time were not limited to Bengalis alone. It gathered a snowballing effect, entire country joined, the media, the press, the people from all Indian cities and villages, the film stars the politicians-all. It became a sort of people's movement. It happened never before in the World history of sports and what a surprise! You keep the man out- he shines in the press media and people's hearts. You bring in him and he dazzles with the bat. There is really something in him, call it determination call it charisma or whatever. He is really the captain material. Some do not understand crowd behaviour and are crying hoarse as if something like Ayodha/Godhra/Bombay Blast/ Nithari/ Bombay Riot/Tandoor Murder has taken place here. They do not know the culture of tolerance of broadness of Bengali mind and blowing the episode out of proportion. They are trying to prove that Bengalis are traitors. Not true! Not true!! Not True!!! They are wronged against. Partitioned! cut!! But never left the mainstream. No one should think that they only are the whole of India, vast area exists behind their back yard, in front of entry gate, to the left and to the right of their village, city or province boundary.

When you talk about merit it is politics. When you talk about national integration and fellow feeling, it is politics! What an age has come! Emotions are termed as politics!!! Bring emotions in and cricket would be so lively. I am shocked the way some people are trying to put a stamp of betrayal or gaddari against the Eden Crowd. Never ever compare Saurav episode with anything else. A standing captain with so much success cannot be treated like that and just remember the mischievous face of Jumping More!
