Yuvraj should be in for second test in place of Karthik. He is a good striker of the ball and loves to play fast bowlers. I think Yuvraj and Jaffer makes a better opening pair.

forget batting. v need just bolrs esp wkt taking bolrs. bolrs may get some runs but batsman r not going to get u wkts and u need 20 in a test.

It has been proved once again by Munaf Patel that he is a player who raises hopes only to fail and fail again. Of course, it may not be entirely his fault. When he came into national reckoning, he carried the tag of having the potential to bowl fast and straight (at around 150 kmph). Greg Chappel sensed the danger that such a bowler could destroy the famed Australian batting line up in Australian conditions and hence (mis)guided him to focus on line and length, thereby making him into a medium pacer. (Incidentally have we not seen the wayward manner Shaun Tait and Bret Lee bowl to achieve pace and thereby scare the wit out of batsmen?)
In the long run, Munaf needs to be rehabilitated and nurtured to make him a good bowler. In the short term, he needs to be replaced by a better bowler like Ranadeb Bose or Irfan Pathan for the second test. If the plan is to play 3 pacers in Kolkata, then both Bose and Irfan should play. Perhaps Zaheer needs to be given one more opportunity. If he doesn't shine in Kolkata, he may be replaced by Ishant Sharma of Delhi.

probably true abt munaf treatment by gr8 chappal. munaf needs to get some spl attention and some tips from his mentor dennis lilee who discovered him.

Are you related to Devegowda? Your name, though not spelled the same way, sounds quite like his.
We do not have fast bowler bench strength at all. Ranadeb Bose was quite ineffective against Eng in very favorable bowling conditions. He'll be eaten alive by Pak. Munaf is the only option selectors had and exercised it.
Ishant Sharma for Zaheer Khan? Are you out of your mind? When was last Ishant Sharma took more than 2 wkts in a match? He's in the team merely to bowl to batsmen in the nets.

Ishant to bowl at batsmen in nets ? No doubt - Indian Batsmen will get sucked by fast bowlers from PAK and fuc.... in AUS ?
