gnaguly's last five innings 0 39 6 39 with 3 lifes and 5 but he is stilll part of odi team gnaguly is worst fielder and poor in running btn wkt thany any other player RP singh replaced sresant but proved he is worst than sresant. dhoni always gets runs in dead pitiches of subcontinent but he was total failure in fast bouncy pitiches of SA and WI rules never applies to tendulkar If performance is yardstick to drop players ganguly;s determination - gettng backdoor entry by misusing media and using left party politician's influence and scoring some runs for self to save his place in team he is cheap III class politiicanthen tendulkar, dhoni, zahir bajji and gnaguly would have out of team long time before.. drsavid is best batsman for ind in test cricket and he has highest averrage and most of his performance are on foreing pitiches and against strong bowling attack dravid better fielder than ganguly and running btn wkt is better than ganguly dravid always played for team while ganguly innigs are for self to save his place in team and play for his sponsers he wastes more balls spending time in crease for his sponsers. he give more runs to opposition by his poor fielding selfish oppertunitst politician ganguly is a burden and curse to team india and he should be sacked
In 2007, following are the highest run scorers in one day:
Hayden: 1555- 29 matches Tendulkar: 1425 - 33 matches Yuvraj: 1287 - 36 matches (1 x 100s, 9 x 50s, 3 x0s) Ganguly: 1240 - 30 matches (12 x 50s, 2X0s) Dravid: 823: 31 matches (8 x 50s, 3 x 0s) Gambhir: 634 - 21 matches (1 x 100s, 3 x 50s, 3 x 0s) Utthappa: 509 - 22 matches (3 x 50s and 2 x 0s).
Ganguly also is a very useful 5th bowler who enables India to take an additional batsman...he also bowled 76 overs in 2007 for 7 wckets and gave away 344 runs (liitle less than 4.5 runs per over!!!)
I wonder with this performance, how many teams would dare to make him sit out??? But unfortunately, in our country regionalism and politics reign supreme!!!! and he is made to sit if he doesnt perform in 1 or 2 innings...and at whose cost...these bunch of "futures" like Gambhir and Utthappa....
Even at the age of 36 he delivers and contributes a lot.
Salute to Saurav Ganguly!
I know Idlis as usual will react viciously and start abusing...

bajji was wktless in 6 matces till he took 2 for 43 in 4th odi against ausses he never dropped but played full seires against pakistan zahirkhan performs once in 5-6 matches but he is survivedASk tendulkar, ganguly gambir dhoni and sewag to bat at five diff positions in five matches against aussies then u see the differnece in performance and strike rate they should bat down in order when team in trouble and go up in order when there was pressure of increasing runrate and less balls to face why same rule which applied for dravid not applicable to other players Dravid took 10 catches in 5 innings while robin only five and gambire and ganguly only one each ask ganguly to bat at five different no in five matches against aussies then u see the diff in performance and strike rate gnaguly should come down in order when team in trouble and go up in order when tere is pressure of increasing runrate and less balls to face even ganguly scored runs none of his innings are match winning. selfish politician ganguly is curse to team india

India is almost certain to come out trumps in the tri-series down under. If one thinks otherwise as some of the contributors do, I would only say either they are being too coservative, cynical or they have no measure of the strength of the present Indian team. Aussies were lucky to go undefeated in the recent series. To my mind if only the Indian team management were able to resist various lobbies and had selected the team on pure merits, the Aussies would have lost the series. The recent success, I hope will embolden them. Did you see, how after dropping Dravid in the 7th ODI, the Indian team defeated the Aussies without hiccups. A number dead-weights have been hampering the game of an other-wise brilliant Indian team as it stands proved that T20 championship was no fluke
How do you rate India chances in Australia coming summer? With young blood and new talent coupled with experience of old war horses the likes of dravids,10dulkars, kumble and biggest thorn for Aussie%u2019s VVS LAXMAN would we be able to repeat 2003 or better given Aussies are at top of their game with 14 straight wins

India will lose the first 2 Tests in Aus, then win the next 2. Aus would have completed 16 test wins and like in 2001, will go on to lose the next 2! How is it?

Stats do not always speak clearly.
That is why we have a bench of selectors in any country/organisation selecting a team.
Other wise we could just write a software programe which gets the feed back of stats at every level and would just give you the 11 top players(depending on bow,bat/allrounder) and will itself form you a team , at any level. You just have to play them.
Ajit Agarkar is no exception to this. If through out, from the most informed to the most emotional follower, is being hated there is a profound, I might say, a nessisity for it.
Of course there will be exceptions for every thing but the point remains that if you think Ajit is not so bad then it is fine. There are others who think he got, not one too many but a million too many chances. So you kinda neutralise each other to this moment.
