TIME TO DOCK THE UMPIRES.......
by on Nov 21, 2007 09:14 PM

UMPIRES SHOULD BE UNDER THE SCANNER TOO....

TIME TO KEEP THE UMPIRES UNDER CHECK TOO........

IT IS TIME TO GET TECHNOLOGY INTO THE GAME IN A BIGGER WAY.

THIS SORRY, SORRY BUSINESS WILL NOT HELP THE PLAYER. WHEN YUVRAJ STOOD HIS GROUND, THEY DOCKED HIS MATCH FEES BY 20%, BUT THEN WHAT COULD YUVI DO, WHEN HE WAS SO SURE THAT HE WAS - NOT OUT?

THE PLAYERS ARE ALWAYS AT THE RECEIVING END AGAINST THE UMPIRES, AND ANY FORM OF DISCENT IS FINED.

I THINK THE UMPIRES TOO SHOULD BE FINED, AND THEIR MATCH FEES SHOULD BE DEDUCTED, AS WELL AS THEY SHOULD BE OUT FOR A COUPLE OF MATCHES, FOR THE MISTAKES THEY MAKE.

THIS IS ONLY FAIR TO THE PLAYERS AND THE GAME AS A WHOLE.

I AM SURE THAT THEY WILL BRING TECHNOLOGY IN, IN A COUPLE OF YEARS. WHY NOT DO IT RIGHT NOW?

Yuvi will easily overtake Sachin because Dhoni tend not to use Sachin to bowl of late, even when Yuvi and Schwag were going for 7 an over. I think sachin has got more variety than others as a regular part-time fifth bowler. He could bring more success if used regularly.

People who say Sacin should be dropped ....
by man khurd on Nov 20, 2007 02:15 PM

People who say Sachin should be dropped should seriously consider psychiatric treatment... I am seriou , instantly without waiting get an appointment and talk out your problems with a professional. It will really help you to come to senses. Please do some self introspection and see where things took a wrong turn in your life that you started forming such ridiculous opinions. Was it your failure at the job or some money you bet on India and lost or just a fall on the head during your childhood. Its never too late to come out and clean the cobwebs in your head and accept the contribution that Sachin has made to Indian cricket. Nobody else can EVER achieve what Sachin has done in the last 18 years.

The MVP ratings are no surprise. It is a pity after so many years noone has displaced Tendu at the top.The way Tendu burst on the scene no youngster seems to be able to do.
Tendu continues to be great. No point in arguing this. But he is definitely not the Tendu of old .We saw a glimpse of the old Tendu the other day.So we shd let him be.Obviously his reflexes are not what they were.
But the truth is except Yuvraj and to a liitle extent Dhoni there is noone to displace him.Wish there were youngsters to seriously challenge him at least in his end years.
I see only Rohit Sharma and perhaps Tewary with a chance to challenge him in future apart from Yuvraj.Gambhir,Uthappa are not in the same class.

How many time in ODI history you have seen opener hitting the winning runs. Sachin is an opener he will only do his job as an opener i.e. to give good start.

After he goes others will have take the mantle and ensure the win. The mantle is taken by the batsmen who come at 4-5. Please see the history of the game.

The 4-5 batsmen Yuvi and Dhoni so they hit the winning runs. While chasing 320 Butt and Younis did what had to be done then came Afridi he hit 28 in 14 and the match was won.

So Sachin gives good opening but most of the times he does more than that then he is out if others perform we win else we loose.

By he way out of his 41 ODI centuries 29 are for winning cause. There must be many 90s and 50s.

remember sachin when asked to play in 4 no position, his performance was dipped.he was very reluctant to play in middle order.recent example is world cup in carribean.sachin batted in no 4 position.result you are knowing.sehwag always says that he favours opening.recently robin uthapa also said that his favourite position is opening.if opening is so hard according to you then why every one wants opening slot.saurav also wants opening slot as well gautam gambhir.so please stop saying that opening is very difficult.sachin is best batsman india has ever produced but respect other players also.yuvraj is currently batting best in odis. in australia, andrew symonds and michel hussey ges award for best odi cricketer despite scoring lessthan hayden, ponting and gilchrist.so think before write.

You better READ before you write.

The point was opening batsmen would not hit the winning runs. And hence not called match winners when they vrey much are.

We have this phobia about winning run. Asif the nurse who delivered the baby is the real mother and not the great one who went thru all of 9 months.

Sachin vs Yuvraj

It is quite wrong on our part to compare Sachin with Yuvi. The Former is much older than Yuvi but still maintained his batting form. Yuvi is consistent only now. He was very very unpredictable till mid 2007. Last few matches only he played well.

yuvraj is 3rd leading scorer in odi since 2003 world cup.sachin is 2nd in list but ahead only by 15 runs.sachin is a opener and one should know that in odis openers score more because they have always more overs to play and also they have advantage of playing in power plays.yuvraj is very consistent for last four years.

samir! you should know that openers have to bear the brunt of high level of energies of guys like Shoaib and Brett lee. Its very difficult to be an opener in fron of the fresh legs of such bowlers. By the time its 20-25 overs the second line bowlers come to play and in the slog overs there is no pressure of being out as its expected and by the the fast bowler are tired and most of them lose the bite.

Consider no. of matches also
by Vijay urf Teesmar Khan on Nov 20, 2007 10:36 AM

Divide the total points by number of matches played by each player. Then it will be clear which player is most valuable per match.
Present calculation is incomplete.
