Javed Miandad's Comments
by MohammedJalal Shaikh on Nov 18, 2007 06:16 PM  | Hide replies

What Javed Miandad said about Shoaib Malik, very soon people will see Sunil Gavasker saying the same things about Anil Kumble and his boys after they return from Australia.

This will not happen:
Because Kumble is Mature - Shoaib Malik is not. Kumble is intelligent and Shoaib is not not. And Gavaskar will not say that because Gavaskar is smart - and not a loser like Miandad.
Ever since he retired as a player Miandad has been nothing but a joke. And now a Terrorist-in-law too!

Is the BCCI concerned about the horrible umpiring errors that's sure going to come up in the Australia tour later.
by K Chandru on Nov 18, 2007 12:17 PM  | Hide replies

Our BCCI is busy counting currencies. They won't be bothered about issues like, our batsmen or bowlers ending up at the recieving end due to horrible umpiring decisions. Even the umpiring errors need to be protested and ICC must be informed of these mistakes with video footages. Umpires irrespective of their colour or creed try to please whites and win their support to officiate more matches. There's not a single umpire from India who is in the ICC's elite panel of umpires. BCCI is not bothered at all. They'll only show the measures taken in this regard on paper and not the nett result of them. They even forget that ICC can not survive without asian nations' support. Infact, BCCI must dictate terms rather than doing the bowing act. Steve Bucknor has gone too old to hear or observe the faint snicks and edges froom the bat and he must retire. The only good umpire in the current lot seems to be Mr. Alim Dharr from Pakistan who does a fairly neat and unbiased job.

Thank God! Our players have woken up finally and learnt to fight fire with fire. I'm sure, Andrew Nel's stare at our batsmen will surely be dealt suitably by our batsmen hereafter. Ausies and South Africans are the most erring ones in terms of himiliating the opposition on and off the field. It's time, we give them back their due share. Khudos to the current crop of young and courageous players for doing just that.

Yes Sudhir well said.
He should be out of Pakistan and handed over to US becuase he is harbouring the most waneted man on earth - Dawood Ibrahim. Miandad's son is married to Dawood's daughter. Miandad should be chased out of pak and handed over to US. Now !!

had that happened to india it had been kapils gavaskars complaning abt dhoni and abt the y dravid wasnt there or y playing old guns of sachin o ganguly!no body take cricket as a sport! india played better than pak. and pak still trying to get best combinations going. the only trump card they had was shoiab, yunis and yusaf they played well but they didnt have the agressiveness! it comes once u win couple of matches! Miandad will say that i being pakistani, wud take it as a game.the ones that played better won! pak experiemented too much. shud have played 2 regular openners.but now they shd concentrate of the coming tests and not to look back what has happened! if malik is out then whos gonna take charge?

You are right Jon.The best way forward, for any team, whether its winning or losing, is to constantly look for ways to improve, drawing lessons from each match, instead of crucifying or eulogising unduly any individual. For whatever reasons Malik was chosen the captain in the first place, he must be given a fair run.If he fails to improve as a captain and inspire his team to perform well(this doesn't mean winning all matches, as the other team could click better on a given day)then he may be replaced. It is sickening to hear Javed calling for Malik's head or Rameez unfairly criticising Md. Yusuf in spite of his brilliant batting.I am saying all this, mind you, being an Indian and I want India to win always, in spite of spirited performance of the Pak team!

Sudhir and Iyer
thanks! Mr Iyer yeah u shud back india as i back pak nuffin rong in tht! but commentators and ex coaches will do that!im a big fan of great miandad but his statement about malik was undue.hes a kid young one has to see his attitude after some time.indo-pak series isnt easy for likes of inzi gangulay tendu and wasims waqars and azhars so malik shudnt be blamed. its cricket, when pak lost to india in tests in pak it was miandad who was the coach, still the lost at home, its the team thatmatters speaking from outside is easy,as for miandads hisoric six Zaheer abbas criticsed him for his slow batting to take the match till the end, that was undue froom zaheer and this is undue from miandad! same happens with india,if india looses the tests the same malik will be praised and hailed and same kumble dhoni sachin will be criticsed, sad part is that we havent learnt to accept a loss! we always want to win!by hook or by crook!

In the current form of Indian team and the slackness of pak team, Pak team cannot touch the hair on Indian team. Please dont shoot your mouth off. If you cannot beat Indian team in ODI, forget the test series. Ask Aussies they will tell ya!

Miandad calls for Malik's ouster.......................
by goodman adam on Nov 17, 2007 10:59 PM  | Hide replies

What a post mortem. It is most most usual thing to criticise AFTER something happens.AND most of people who normally comment here are ignorant about the ground reality.Watch from TV, read from paper and commenting is v easy. Any one can do that.Where was Miandad before series. Why didnt he advise Pak team.Where were others before the match or series.Again now what has anyone advised for Jaipur match. But they will conduct post mortem later if Pak loses the Jaipur match.India is winning so Indian guns are silent. If India loses then again post mortem will start from India. And to a loser any one can give comments later ye karna tha wo karna tha etc etc.Has anyone from India has advised what Dhoni should do tomorrow.
We people in this subcontint are very good in lip service LATER.If you sell a car, your close ones will ask for how much did you sell, you will tell some price and you will listen later arey yaar mujhe kyu nahi bola , you sold the car cheaper and if one informs before selling the car then none will turn up for better bargain. This is the Indian sub continent. All this comes from politics in blood. It starts from the family itself.Larger the family better politicians are the members of the family and finally sab kuch jabani( all by tongue and not by action).Whole system is like that from top to bottom. From top to bottom all only SPEAK and do nothing.Thats why in this sub continent we dont have a category of people in careers e g Sports, writing, research etc etc.

what pakistan is doing with other bowlers. just keep undereggs. gud for non . they spoil the name of countery and the image of old senior players. i pray. theyt should use ther brain.. how old players play if they reqair. put blood onnthe pitch they are readdy to do old players. now the filding and batting and bowling all rubesh.if i get achance to select the time i show , they ALSO,can fallow rhe foot step of senior player. and learn old are tigers now are dogs. leassy players. they not have game sprit just the are attening they duties.players and selector are same. gud 4 non.if they ask me i will adivse the ICC, to ban the pakistan team from cricket.and put them back of bar.they should no why its happan. they spoil 24 years record.leassy players they cant bend they back on the field, evry one depand on each other thats not a fair cricket. now they can learn how in indian they have a sprit. i cant say more then this all the best for the pakistan carrier

blame game starts
by arun on Nov 17, 2007 09:19 PM

This is utter nuisance, now everyone pointing their fingers at shoaib malik. Pakistan hasn't played with the flare they are known for but not everything is to be blamed at captain. Rasheed latif's comments are really bogus, there are 4 specialist openers out of which he could not have rested kamran akamal though he is not in form as he is the only wicket-keeper and salman butt has been playing superbally so where in earth he could have included the other two players in. Bowling attack is not at all its best. Shoaib definitely lacks fitness but trying his level best. Pakistan definitely missing Asif. Its true that he was a confused captain in the middle but what were the senior players doing Yousuf Khan and Youhana should give some advice rather than keeping quiet at some corner, he is still a very young captain...like sachin & ganguly do here for dhoni though he is good enough and rarely needs any.
