It requires guts to drop a senior player like Rahul but to be honest there are better one day players who are young and energetic and willing to learn and grow. Those players include Suresh Raina , Dinesh Karthick , Rohit Sharma , Bhadrinath , Kaif , Gambir , Robin Uttapa etc.
It is very difficult to play these players and give them a decent run when we have three old foxes in the team. Except sachin , the other two can easily be replaced with the younger lot as they not only bring energy to the field but also can be groomed for the next world cup and for the future.
Every person has the right to earn for his living. Further, the post of Selector is Honarary and not a paid job. I hope there is nothing wrong for the Selectors to write columns in newspapers and magazines since they need to be alive to do the job of selection...
Vengsarkar seems to be more a general than a colonel. He is a law unto himself. The maratha lobby seems to have gathered strength with the lukewarm protests after Vengsarkar orchestrated removal of Rahul Dravid.

Mr Vanmali, 1. You are abhorably divisive. 2. The paper that Dilip writes for is owned By Mr Pawar's brother. 3. Dilip Vengsarkar is not a Maratha.
There must be a lot more things that you need to get into your thick head but I am in no mood to educate divisive elements in the society. i consider such people Gaddars or Deshdrohis
My Team India for tommorrows match is: 1. Virendar Sehwag 2. Gautam Gambhir 3. Robin Uthappa 4. Yuvraj Singh 5. Rohit Sharma 6. MS Dhoni 7. Irfan Pathan 8. Harbhajan Singh 9. Zaheer Khan 10. Murali Karthik 11. S. Sreesanth

it seems the position and the perks that he enjoys has into into his head. Nobody is above the law. he should be reprimanded right there so that he refrains from writing in future. In case he is very firm in writing then he can quit as a chairman of selection committee. He is the root cause for relinguishing the captaincy by Wall.similarly Shastri is also making unwanted comments on the present cricketers. He should be told not to do so which would spoil the cricketing career of some budding cricketers and also veterans.
Note: SURPRISINGLY, this team may perhaps win the match, because Pak team is in total mess with the captain himself in poor form. There is no Mohd Asif, Shoaib Akthar is unpredictable, Danish Kaneria is no threat to the oldies in Indian side.
But what will happen if this very same Indian team is pitched against Australia in Australia? They will be pulped!
Note 2: I am excluding Dhoni from the playing XI, because he doesn't deserve the (dis)honour of being part of such a lackadaisical side!
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Vengsarkar can write his views about this team and I do not ban him like BCCI!

Dear Emperor Ashoka,
I think you have chosen this team to play against you Gully team not against Pakistan. I agree that this is much weaker Pakistani team ever toured India. but u should aware of what they did last test tour to india. Though that time we also considered them weaker ever, and they level the series against us. they have one greatest batsman in Mohd. Yousuf who can turned the match single handedly. and yes, u exclude our two best players and opur future. i.e, Dhoni and Yuvraj. There is no doubt about Dhoni, that he will definitly play, but i think Yuvi should get chance ahead of Laxman or Ganguly. Though Lax and Ganguly are good players but Yuvi helpful to accelerate the scoring and big asset in fielding as well compared to these two players. Also I will exculde one bowler to accommodate Extra batsman, so my team for first test will be: 1. Dinesh Karthik 2. Wasim Jaffer 3. Rahul Dravid 4. Sachin Tendulkar 5. Saurav Ganguly/VVS Laxman 6. Yuvraj singh 7. MS Dhoni 8. Anil Kumble 9. Zaheer Khan 10. RP Singh 11. Sreesanth 12. Harbhajan Singh

keep an ambulance handy to cart off players suffering from dehydration, muscle pull, hamstring injury etc etc--5 days on the field might prove a bit difficult for few

And who these players would be? Based on Bangladesh experience, it will be the "Youngsters"
This obstinate character called vengsarkar was sacked from captaincy and indian team for defying ban and writing columns--he's doing the same thing again--maybe he's such a bad speaker that he has to pen down his thoughts. A person who shows no discipline is unfit to be chairman of selectors--either he should step down or the BCCI should sack him.

We all love Vengi. If you want to kiss BCCI's ask, please feel free to do so. BCCI's bans have no logic and neither is yours.

your prerogative to "If you want to kiss BCCI's ask" no logic in your statement either esp "we all love Vengi"
Why ganguly will be rested tomorrows match as he is very much struggled to find his form(he scored only 89 runs in 4 innings). This may be another plan from selectors to dump another senior cricketers as they already removed Dravid. In the current team only Yuvraj and Dhoni are playing well and Robin not even got proper chance to bat. If new face comes and fills middle order he wont be able to play much balls as all these will be played by opening batsmen.

scoring victories against a weak pakistan team in india has placed the team in a comfort zone forgetting the aussie loss on home grounds. Let this so called young team prove its prowess in australia and then we can discuss technique, consistency etc.
Vengsarkar through out his carrer had done things that defies logic and are highly political. He still continues to hold a selector position and do things in conflict of inerest to the same postion. He was banned during his captaincy for 6 months when he was writing editorial columns. Did the same during the recent england tour, talking about seniors, batting order thru newspapers. What a shame. He should be banned from Indian cricket. I have not seen a worst cricketer turned selector. Vengsarkar is taking Indian cricket backwards. After India losing the 50 over Worldcup, losing to Australia 4-2, this guy does not feel accountable and is still sticking on to his position.Shame on him and BCCI for doing nothing about it.

Writing articles and expressing opinions is not a crime. We live in a democracy. If you and BCCI want to live in imperialship of the past, it is time to grow up. BCCI as an organization, if we can call that wont even meet minimal criteria of a sports body, if it were to be in USA, where sports has thrived for decades into huge business. BCCI as a lot to learn to treat adults as adults. Vengi knows his responsibility, when he writes articles. It is a shame that we have puppets like you writing in favour of BCCI.

writing articles is not wrong. but when he is chairman of selectors, there r ethics to b followed. vengi failed when he was a capt and even now when as selector. if going opinion is good, y were yuv, sachin, bhajji etc. were reprimanded saying against chappel.
