Yuvraj Singh [Images] became the second Indian to make 200 runs in the series with a tally of 222 runs at an average of 74.00.

Average should be 55.5 (222/4) not 74.00 (222/3)?

incredible consistency by parthiv patel!
by uncle shame on Nov 16, 2007 09:20 PM

what a performance again. scored 158 in the ranji after the irani trophy 162 and 59*. scored more than 1100 runs in 2007 and against all the good quality opponents like SA -A and on all grounds. the most consistent batsman in india. he definitely needs a look specially as batsman atleast.
v need a batsman like him in Ausi to perform consistently. in india u will find many so-called heros. Our so-called good batsman having backing on flat-bed indian pitches will show their true colour in ausi.
But especially in Ausi conditions, v definitely need to look at parthiv. and parthiv has earlier performed in Ausi as well.
plz ckt fans judge his performance objectively without any prejudices at him for his keeping. (even that has been improved a lot). but just judge him simply as batsman.
in the era of dhoni when nobody thought beyond dhoni, but once given the chance, even dinesh karthik showed his talent. similarly let the hidden talent to be taken out of him to prosper. that is healthy for competition.

Jayasuria is better than Sachin and Sourav
by Rajnarain Gouda on Nov 16, 2007 04:46 PM  | Hide replies

While Sachin has score most runs out of the three, Jayasuria has the most number of wickets (300 ) in ODIs among the "S"trio (Sachin, Sourav and Sanath). Therefore it is clear that Jayasuria is much more valuable to Team Srilanka than either Sachin or Sourav to Team India, when it comes to helping the cause of a team win.

What is amazing that at the age of 37 Jayasuria is still able to clearly justify his place in his team with allround display (he fields better than Sachin and Sourav, he comes up with good scores in every second or third match, he takes wickets and catches as well!).

Even in today's test match against Australia, he took a wicket for 17 runs from 7 overs!

We salute your spirit, Sanath Jayasuria!

there is no comparison of Jayasurya & sachin
If you see as a batsman sachin has set much better standard & not Pinchhitter like Jayasurya
