Wake up BCCI !
by K Chandru on Nov 18, 2007 06:59 PM

Poor Umpiring decisions that's going to come up later when tour the Australia! Is anyone bothered?

Our BCCI is busy counting currencies. They won't be bothered about issues like, our batsmen or bowlers ending up at the recieving end due to horrible umpiring decisions. Even the umpiring errors need to be protested and ICC must be informed of these mistakes with video footages. Umpires irrespective of their colour or creed try to please whites and win their support to officiate more matches. There's not a single umpire from India who is in the ICC's elite panel of umpires. BCCI is not bothered at all. They'll only show the measures taken in this regard on paper and not the nett result of them. They even forget that ICC can not survive without asian nations' support. Infact, BCCI must dictate terms rather than doing the bowing act. Steve Bucknor has gone too old to hear or observe the faint snicks and edges froom the bat and he must retire. The only good umpire in the current lot seems to be Mr. Alim Dharr from Pakistan who does a fairly neat and unbiased job.

Thank God! Our players have woken up finally and learnt to fight fire with fire. I'm sure, Andrew Nel's stare at our batsmen will surely be dealt suitably by our batsmen hereafter. Ausies and South Africans are the most erring ones in terms of himiliating the opposition on and off the field. It's time, we give them back their due share. Khudos to the current crop of young and courageous players for doing just that.

Selfish Sachin: I have some innovative ideas to criticize
by explorer on Nov 17, 2007 08:05 AM  | Hide replies

1. Sachin is so selfish that out of 62/2 he scored 50. How can youngsters like Sehwag get chance to score runs and prove themselves?
2. To prove that he is not selfish, he is delibrately getting out in ninties and putting the team in difficulty. Ultimate example of selfishness.
3. Now he is focusing on getting the record of getting out max times in ninties. How selfish?
4. With just an average 48 in the calendar year and with his place questioned all through this year, he wants to save his place so he is scoring runs at the cost of his partners without allowing others to score runs.

Please find any more.... we need innovation now.

lol this really got me crackin..

5. when he gets to 90...he scores the remaining 10 runs in around 12-14 balls ...so what if he scores the other 90 in more than run a ball. What matters more is he ends up wasting 3-4 balls ...so selfish
6. When he runs very hard between the wickets, it unneceassarily puts pressure on poor Dada, and dada is made to look miserable...thats selfish..you have to match the pace of your partner.

Dear Sumit,
Please note that I can use similar language in this forum. Educated people like you dont know how to put your opnions cleanly and it shows you are a coward who probably says excuse me sorry and good morning in every sentence in your office work but use all sorts of nasty language when you are not seen to others.

Any promising batting all arounder..who can bowl 4-6 overs on a regular basis.

It will also help if either of Zaheer, RP get replaced with a bowling all-rounder...usually all good teams have at most one bowler(generally their best fast bowler) who can't bat at all...SA, Kiwi, Aussies.

But at the moment both Zaheer and RP are doing well.

Also dada is not doing that bad again, esp has been handy with a bowl too. But his days seem numbered too...Selectors are going towards youth/mult-dimensional players.

1000 RUNS TO THE CHAMPION - YET ANOTHER YEAR!!!!!!!!!
by Underground Underworld on Nov 17, 2007 03:54 AM  | Hide replies

IRRESPECTIVE OF HIS STRING OF 90'S, HE IS THE ONLY ONE TO HAVE 1000 RUNS..

IN FACT, THE OL' MAESTRO IS WAY WAY AHEAD OF EVERYONE, AND IS THE ONLY ONE TO HAVE ANOTHER 1000 IN THIS CALENDER YEAR.

SHAME ON ALL DETRACTORS WHO HAVE WRITTEN HIM OFF. SACHU, WITH HIS BABY WRY SMILE, WILL JUST PLAYS WITH HIS HEAVY BAT, AND SHOWS THE WORLD THAT HE IS STILL THE LEGEND, THE MAESTRO.

ALL THOSE WHO ASK FOR HIM TO BE DROPPED SHOULD HAVE THEIR OWN HEADS CHOPPED OFF.

TENDULKAR CONTINUES TO BE THE BEST PLAYER IN THE INDIAN TEAM, AND ONE OF THE BEST PLAYER IN THE WORLD.

WHO ARE THESE SMALL FRIES WHO WRITE ON THIS MESSAGE BOARD ABOUT HIS INABILITY; THAT HE SHOULD RETIRE; AND SO MUCH CRITICISM, WHEN THE CHAMPION PLAYERS, PAST AND CURRENT - RATE HIM AS ONE OF THE BEST PLAYERS OF THE GAME, OF ALL TIME, INCLUDING SIR DON BRADMAN?

ALSO, THE PLAYERS OF SO MANY COUNTRIES CURRENTLY REGARD HIM AS THE BEST PLAYER IN THE CIRCUIT!

MAN, THIS GUY GAVE NIGHTMARES TO SHANE WARNE, AND WARNIE WAS HONEST TO TELL ABOUT IT.

SHAME - ON OUR INDIANS WHO CANNOT DISTINGUISH THE LEFT HAND BETWIX THE RIGHT HAND,
AND TO ALL THOSE WHO POST HERE, WHO DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT.

REMEMBER - INDIA'S FORTUNES IN THE LAST MANY YEARS HAS CENTERED AROUND THE MAESTRO.

THE PUBLIC MEMORY IS SO SHORT, THAT IF HE SCORES 7 IN THE NEXT MATCH, THEY WILL FORGET THAT HE HAS 7 SCORES IN THE 90'S IN RECENT TIME. IT IS ANOTHER THING THAT THEY ARE NOT HUNDREDS...

HE STILL REMAINS THE GREAT HERO TO MILLIONS ABROAD!!!

Is India still to be a Republic ?
by Mihirkanti Choudhury on Nov 16, 2007 11:57 PM

from Bangladesh ----------------
In the Presentation Ceremony of the 4th ODI between India and Pakistan, Ramij Raja of Pakistan thanked all the distinguished members of the Presentation Party. One Mr. Sindhia (probabbly his name is Jyotiriaditya Sindhia)was specifically thanked for the presence of his 'graciousness'. Ramij Raja of Pakistan is not likely to know who is what of India. He was certainly briefed by somebody either from BCCI or from Madya Pradesh Cricket Association in writing or verbally. I have a curiosity to know whether the Indians find it difficult to forget the words like 'Highness', 'graciousnes'. Though India formally became a Republic on JANUARY 26, 1950, the counbtry still has to do a lot to establish the spirit.

How media manupulates things...
by VancouverPunekar on Nov 16, 2007 10:14 PM  | Hide replies

There is too much talk going on regarding India defeating Pak after 24 years. Agreed. But how many times did pak tour India in those 24 years?
Just twice ! And the other way of looking at it in 25 years India has def them 2 twice and lost twice (series scores locked 2-2).
so its not as pathetic as it looks.

1983.......India wins

1987.......India loses

2004.......India loses

2007 (current)
.......India wins

uncle shame
incredible consistency from parthiv patel!
by uncle shame on Nov 16, 2007 09:19 PM

what a performance again. scored 158 in the ranji after the irani trophy 162 and 59*. scored more than 1100 runs in 2007 and against all the good quality opponents like SA -A and on all grounds. the most consistent batsman in india. he definitely needs a look specially as batsman atleast.
v need a batsman like him in Ausi to perform consistently. in india u will find many so-called heros. Our so-called good batsman having backing on flat-bed indian pitches will show their true colour in ausi.
But especially in Ausi conditions, v definitely need to look at parthiv. and parthiv has earlier performed in Ausi as well.
plz ckt fans judge his performance objectively without any prejudices at him for his keeping. (even that has been improved a lot). but just judge him simply as batsman.
in the era of dhoni when nobody thought beyond dhoni, but once given the chance, even dinesh karthik showed his talent. similarly let the hidden talent to be taken out of him to prosper. that is healthy for competition.

He has contributed handsomely over the years ...
Hard to keep him out of the team for long. I think he'll be back and will be raring to go. The break seems to have served him well.

Karthiks! Be ready to be scapegoats yet again...
by K Chandru on Nov 16, 2007 07:28 PM  | Hide replies

I bet Dinesh Karthik, Murali Kathik and VVS won't get to play all the test matches in this series. The much talked about rotation policy is meant for only these poor cricketers who do not have any backing. Even one failure will be enough to lose their places and gift it on a platter to someone like Sehwag or Powar. One more insult at the hands of these bunch of jokers who claim themselves to be selectors, I'd wish they all join ICL en masse... ICL is sure to become a big hit atleast in this part of India.

I dont get agree with this opinoin as karthik has given chance in england and he proved their as a valueable opener and i dont see any reason why he will not be kept continue as opener in test. The selectors are being honest this time and i guess they are picking the players based on their performance. As far as the ICL is concern it is going to be very good for them who want to play for india and prove their metal and are not getting chance, So ultimately it is going to be benefited to indian cricket because no one can stop performing any one.
