incredible consistency from parthiv patel!
by uncle shame on Nov 16, 2007 09:23 PM  | Hide replies

what a performance again. scored 158 in the ranji after the irani trophy 162 and 59*. scored more than 1100 runs in 2007 and against all the good quality opponents like SA -A and on all grounds. the most consistent batsman in india. he definitely needs a look specially as batsman atleast.
v need a batsman like him in Ausi to perform consistently. in india u will find many so-called heros. Our so-called good batsman having backing on flat-bed indian pitches will show their true colour in ausi.
But especially in Ausi conditions, v definitely need to look at parthiv. and parthiv has earlier performed in Ausi as well.
plz ckt fans judge his performance objectively without any prejudices at him for his keeping. (even that has been improved a lot). but just judge him simply as batsman.
in the era of dhoni when nobody thought beyond dhoni, but once given the chance, even dinesh karthik showed his talent. similarly let the hidden talent to be taken out of him to prosper. that is healthy for competition.

think of him purely as batsman, for the time being ignore that he is wktkeeper.
v need some consistent player who can play in ausi and not ones who play mamoth innings in india and surrenders in ausi.

Aussie cricket is mono
by SK Gupta on Nov 16, 2007 08:11 PM  | Hide replies

they have been winning one-sidedly over the last 15 yrs. cricket is boring, whenever Aussie are playing, 90% of the time, they only win..
only india is able to put some fight..
thanks to Twenty20 cricket, Even zim defeated them,,,

choose the best bowlers
by premraja on Nov 16, 2007 07:19 PM  | Hide replies

I think right now zaheer, sreeshant, rp singh, munaf patel and irfan pathan should go as pace bowlers and harbahajan and kumble as spinners. this i feel is the best bowling attack we have as of now. hopefully munaf will be ok by then

i think earlier we guys are complaining about all these guys , but now after winning the series , i think we are saying they are fit and the best i think dude , our thinking is bad, sachin score century for his country , next indian will write acomment he can survive till next 5 yrs, if he is out on 10 , chuck him out , we dont read the stats ,i think our own thinking is bad

Ricky Ponting is correct - Murali can not break Warne's world record on Aussie soil.

A plan needed
by BHAGWAT SINGH on Nov 16, 2007 05:43 PM  | Hide replies

A plan needed to reduce our weakness. Indian team should concentrate on weakness and also improve the bowwling dept. Beating pak is not big achievement because the pak team is now uner rennovation so its not a big thing, but remember u have to play the aussies which is a racist nation and they always play with 13 players(including umpires) especially if u can see in the matches the umpires will voluntarily give wrong decision against SACHIN SAURAV, RAHUL, YUVRAJ but they will more generous to other batsman.
And they will indulge in sledging introduced by Steve waugh to put mentally down. So its time for Indian team to keep on practising these areas.
If bowling is not enough getting out of these aussie monsters Heydan, Ponting, clarke, Hussey
will be a night mare for oue bowlers.

Neutral umpires in Aussue soil are not neutral. As Gvaskar aid once its 65-35 in favour of home side .Just watch the replay or the last test in 2004 against india (day 5).India got Steeve Waugh out many times LBW but the umpires allowed him to carry on and thereby savr the test.

correctly said, dinkar. ausis r more or less favoured as far as dubious decisions r concerned. in 2000(!), when ausi team was winning on the trot, (may b gilchrist's debut series), they beat pak 3-0. in one test then, gili and langer scored match winning centuries. but langer was clearly given not out caught behind when shoiab akhtar was firing like anything. ausis victories are always helped by ump.

Dinker ..thatz now true .We indians being emotional tend to forget the decisions we get in our favour too soon. The truth is that there is a big gap between them and other teams.

RE:LOSING RATHER TAH WINNING
by Vinal Gandhi on Nov 16, 2007 08:04 PM
Australia wins because they play as a team. They win because they play to win. They win because they are mentally strong. They win because they believe in themselves. They win because they are highly disciplined. They win because in their team, there are no super heroes, only performers. They win because they do their math and homework. They win because they do not play on impluse. And lastly, they win because they have very good players. Merely hating them for thir guts will not cause them to lose. You may not like them but you have to admit they are the best.
