you should never compare gilly with the little master.Don't think just because sachin started at the age of 16 he has scored runs.Why couldn't gilly start at the age of 16?I said this because cricket is my religion and sachin is my god.

but why other people could not start playing for cricket at 16 and survive for 20 years. it is very demeaning to talk for a player like sachin in this manner

Perfecto. For that matter, he should not be finding a place in Indian team too. But he has the Vada-Pav gang to sustain him.

absolutely correct!!!! It's gr8 that my fellow indians stand up from time to time and speak frankly abt that AVERAGE cricketer called sachin tendulkar. Without the vada-pav gangs and god knows how many strings he pulls with his enormous contacts in top ranking circles , he still plays for india. any other cricket country would have kept him aside for his so-so overall cricket ability!!!
Seeing some messages , i amnt able to control my laughter. Firstly, one should know that the umpires job is to rule a batsman out if he feels that he is out. A batsmans job is to bat until he is given out. Then, why do u people argue abt a batsman leaving the crease if he is not given out by the umpire? On the contrast there are a lot of instances where the batsman got an awkward decision.So i request those people to please argue with sense and not for the sake of arguement.

Apart from his batting and keeping, I admire Gilly as a gentleman. Best example would be the walk he does after edging the ball without waiting for the umpire. It takes a lot of courage and integrity to do that - that clearly shows how much less he cares about the personal goals!!
We see people like Sachin (and rest of all cricketers) to talk about honesty and integrity to all kids around as a role models - but same time they stand on national TV after edging a ball praying the umpire to make a mistake! Isn't it hypocrisy?
If I ever get a son and he play professional sports Gilly would be my first choice as a role model for him!!

NOT TRUE. Sachin is one of the very few cricketers who walks away after edging the ball. With any decision he would never agrue. i have been seeing him since 15 yrs......

I don't agree with you. Why did you pick just Sachin? He has been a gentleman cricketer and a great ambassador over the years. And heck, why should he walk, when he isn't allowed to stay on the wicket when an umpire gives a shocker??!!
My God !!Any article on cricket leads to Sachin Tendulkar Vs rest of the world and lot of abuses between people. Why can't you compare Gilly with Mathew Haden or some other Australian. The comparison was among Aussi players.Based on performance in India I thought it would be Mathew. I was wrong.
