Killing the goose...

By commercialising every split second, the administrators are creating a big dent to the sport. With 5/6 ads per break, brand window between deliveries... telecast is slowly becoming a harrowing affair.. have marketers ever thought they are getting value for the money they are spending on cricket... hardly a handful brands get mileage rest of them are just wasting their budgets.. Coming back to the issue, the administrators should notice just one very important thing... it's just the passion - that has contributed the growth of the game.. the moment element of national pride wanes... the dooms day has come.. so please think before milking moolah out of the game.. let them wait till they get to know the fate of the leagues - ICL and IPL (where the teams play for money - not for the country).. Though it's BCCI's team, people are supporting it... with the impression of supporting nation... And they are coming in herds, to witness the moments of national pride.. If you sell every square inch.. if you sell every moment you are removing the last few elements of passion from it - transforming completely to a money making apparatus.. tomorrow if someone needs to pay for even uttering the word cricket... the game is dead... BCCI and CA bosses better watch out..

It is high time Indian Government interfere and control the dictatorship attitude of this monsterous body called BCCI. This organisation is misusing the craze of millions of Indians towards cricket by making huge money wherever possible and whatever way possible. Ethics has no value for the office bearers of this Cash rich Body. Ruled by non cricketars BCCI has single agenda "How to make money".

what makes you think government control will result in better administration ? After all BCCI is now headed by a national level politician who instead of looking after agricultural issues is spending more time in BCCI

It is a good development, BCCI can also contemplate re-imbursing the ticket money to the spectators if India looses the match. Also they can draw up the plan to re-imburse to the indian economy as millions of people watching the match resulting billion rupees of losses. Here are some of the avenues where BCCI can raise the funds to compensate cricket mad country.
1. Auction cricket gears worn by each and every international/ national players including their dress
2. Premium rate for undergarments.
3. Hair styles, sidelocks, estyles of cricketers to be patented and rolyalty to be collected if any one immitate.
4. BCCI functionaries should come to the street and raise the money in public places like traffic lights, shopping malls, theatres.
5. License fee to be collected from general public who play cricket and use cricket gears.

You can add some more
