RE:Team for Third One Day
by MumbaiChhokra on Nov 11, 2007 07:13 AM
Nonsense, why do you need "all-rounder" Sehwag in team...take either Murli Karthik or Rohit Sharma..make sense right ?
India has the potential to beat pakistan. But on the other had, we saw in Mohali, Pakistan has the potential to beat India too. KABHI BOWLING KHARAB HOTI HAI KABHI BATTING AUR YEH USS NATION KA HAAL HAI JAHAN CRICKET RELIGION HAI. KUCH TO THEEK KARO BHAIYON! STATS SAY THAT THE OPPOSING TEAM TO THE HOME GROUND ALWAYS WINS WHEN INDIA AND PAKISTAN PLAY! MY PREDICTION IS THAT ALL MATCHES WILL BE VERY CLOSE. INDIA WILL SAY THEY DID THEIR BEST AND PAKISTAN WILL SAY THEY WORKED HARD AND IT PAID OFF. JEET HOGI DIPLOMACY KI! ODDS OF INDIA WINNING THIS SERIES ARE TOO LOW.
There is not much difference in the performance if you exclude matches against minnows. For example, Ganguly scored 89 runs against Bermuda while Dravid came very late in batting order and scored 7 not out. Also. against Ireleand Ganguly scored 73* and Dravid did not get a chance to bat. Dravid could have improved his average by coming at number 3 instead of coming lower in batting order.
RE:Dravid versus Ganguly in year 2007
by Vatsal Parekh on Nov 10, 2007 10:59 PM
In one series against Zimbabwe in 2000, Dravid averaged 439 with the bat.... If you take that outlier out, Dravid's test batting average falls to 49..
Also, a pathetic New Zealand attack was hammered for a double century....also a two big hundreds in NZ... If you take out Dravid's performance against zimb and NZ out, Dravid's test batting average plummets to 44!!
That way, anybody can come out with any arguments just to promote your favourite player....
That way i can say that Ganguly averaged 46.3 in two tough series against SA in SA and England in England...
Dravid averaged only 22.8 against the same opponents!!
Ganguly never chose his opponents...he played for India irrespective of who was against him...
Learn to play it fairly...if you hit below the belt, there are lots of people who can also hit below the belt...

I do not think that India tour Bermuda for Test or ODI series. Teams like Bermuda and Ireland are not even recognized. Zimbabwe on the other hand was a reasonably good team few years back and has got the Test status.

Yep, that is true...When zimbabwe had Heath Streak, the Strang brothers, Murray goodwin, Carlisle, Campbell...they were quite a good team..in fact a very good team!!

My goal was not to put Ganguly in poor light. The fact is that Ganguly got more attention because he just made a come back. Also, he was involved in three century partnerships with Tendulkar recently. However, Dravid was the third most successful ODI batsman in England. There was only one bad series and people are saying that Dravid is out of form.
RE:Dravid versus Ganguly in year 2007
by SANDEEP SINGH on Nov 11, 2007 02:45 AM
I want to say only one thing, when Dravid was captain and chappel was coach they made a rule. If some one is not in form, he will not play. So Dravid is outform, and noe he is out from team. Why Dravid was coming so down in the order. He was the captain of Idian team because he knows himself that other players are much better than him. So, there is no need of comparison between Dravid and Ganguly. Ganguly was an opener in his captaincship and Dravid was....

Sanjeev ,Ganguly did not play against BANGLADESH ---Dravid did, take out his runs and see. Dravid is nowhere.

by Sanjeev Verma on Nov 10, 2007 11:20 PM
I listed only those cost untries that are not even playing nations. Dravid did play against Bermuda and came very low in batting order. I am only saying that Ganguly only did marginally better than Dravid. There is not to much to choose from.

GO and watch the match against Aus .. no one in Aus Team could read his bowling .. he was spectacular..
RE:Don't forget about Murli Karthik
by MumbaiChhokra on Nov 11, 2007 07:16 AM
True...but the pitch was conducive for spinners..he had also picked 5 wks in 2004 against Aus in Mumbai to bowl them out under 100 and win Mumbai test.Karthik is like Once in a blue moon kind of player....we need a consistent bowler...

So after all of this time, after all what we%u2019ve been through you and I separately, all the events, all the troubles and agony. I still think about you every day before I go to sleep and even dream about you at night, wana know more I even long for you in bed. I know you might get confused and wonder who the hell am I, but I better keep myself hidden in the dark as I was always like that for you, even when I was in front of your eyes you didn%u2019t see me or at least you claimed you didn%u2019t. And I think it is late, to amend all of this now, but I would like only to inform you with how I feel, since it is hopeless to tell you in person. It all happened rapidly and I couldn%u2019t help falling for you, but as I told you it is one side love. I know a lot about you, but you know so little about me, I love you, but you don%u2019t love me or to be more accurate I don%u2019t know if you love me or not! To revamp all of this we must turn back the clock to innovative our batch together, but as you know it is impossible to do that unless you have magic tools to do so beside the magic you have in your eyes. I still remember your eyes, the way you used to look and gaze when you don%u2019t like anything or when you are about to shout and explode. I%u2019m really happy with the business boost you are having now a days I still follow all your steps and nice new car, also nice Hawaii shirt, but bad routine life. You are living alone with your kids and mum also the servants. Do you e

He is like Praveen Kumar...but Praveen Kumar is a better bowler than Joginder....as far as batting ability goes, they are about the same..
So, with the advent of Praveen Kumar and the resurgence of Irfan Pathan, we now have two genuine allrounders... Jogi bhaiyya will have to wait for a while now!!

joginder would have bowled better while pak chased 322 in mohali odi.

Agree completely with you Uncle shame....a man who has played a lot of matches in Mohali and who knows the pitch like the back of his hand should have played there... Joginder being a guy from that part..... Much for the samwe reason, RP Singh needs to play tom. cos he has played at Green Park Kanpur a lot!!

Joginder just rode his luck in the T20 championship. Especially in the final he bowled so many wide balls helping the Pakis swing their bats. Moreover his body language does not seem right for internationals. Well this is my view point so don't start abusing and crossing the limit. According to me he still got miles to go.

most probably, RP shud play 2moro. may b santh in place of zaheer, if team management is brave enough. also murli kartik in place of veeru.

moreover, joginder as an allrounder is not given opportunities to show his talent as a batsman.

I find joginder to be like mohinder amarnath. tricky and tempting. We should give him a chance
