I think at the present situation only ganguly is the best for captain. he can bat, ball, and a little lazier but can field deep in the field so he is the best fot captain.
The captain should always be a role model to others, name anybody, I don't care, who is good in atleast two areas of the cricket. What Kumble can do? only can guide the spinners?? FUNNY!!!
RE:Captain??? who cannot bat and cannot field, GOOD CHOICE!!!!

As per your point of view only those should comment on cricket, who have knowledge of cricket, you dont know batting, bowling and fielding so...dont waste your time commenting on any cricket articles... KUMBLE is a FIGHTER

haha what a comedy my dear friend. india had only one centuary at last england tour and that is by mr. anil kumble. ok
It is good to see that machinations of Rahul Dravid ultimately failed. Ultimately it is he who has been thrown out, not Ganguly. This was destined to happen. I am very happy at heart. How many of you agree, dear reader?

LETS NOT UKHADU THE GADA MURDA,WE ALL THINK KUMBLE IS THE RIGHT CHOICE.MAY GOD MAKE HIM THE MOST NON CONTROVERCIAL SUCESSFULL CAPTAIN.
i think ganguly should have been thhe best man for the test captaincy job as he is the most successful captain against australia...remember the tour last yr...india has drawn the series 1-1 and dominated the series mostly...they should have won the series in sydney but missed harbhajan a lot as sydney wicket support spinners.murli kartik is rthe worst bowler india has.he is good only in pitches which offers turn.not in flat and bouncy pitches.he is a damn filthy spinner.lets hope india wins the series in australia under kumble

I would like to wish all the best to Ganguly. Coz, he needs it as he has been under a lot of pressure to keep his place in the team for both Tests and ODI for quite sometime now.

You say "He faces odd biting deliveries of pacers in the opening spell of the matches" But that's what openers are supposed to face. Nothing strange about it. But now the question is can he Accelerate the scoring rate and also running between the wickets? If not, why not select a younger player?
Sachin took a very good decision by refusing the test captaincy. He doesn't want to take the risk. As captaincy needs responsibility and accountability it is better for Sachin to stay away from captaincy and concentrate only on the game. This gives others a chance also. Anyhow he is a teamman and he has nothing to prove at this time of his career.
In fact, it would have suited him the best now, but the tour is to downunder. There the chances of any captain are bleak. He does not want to fight a losing bet.Had it been against Bangladesh series, he would have grabbed the opportunity with both the hands. The reasons are 1. Even if you do not perform as a batsman, it would not even be noticed, if you are a captain. 2. But, if you fail and lose the series also, not only you will be removed from the captaincy, but also you may not be selected for subsequent series. Already Ganguly and Dravid had a taste of this. Now, do you want Sachin too to face it?
Tendulkar does not possess leadership qualities- foresightedness, courage, aggression and killer instinct. He is an above average warrior but not a good commander. I am afraid but it is a fact. Tendulkar knows it as well and has wisely refused to shoulder the responsibility.
The Bangalore BUDDHA finally got his due. For Anil Kumble it will be a proud moment when he takes to the field as India's Test captain on November 22 against Pakistan.
Kumble being made the captain has had such an impact in Bangalore that people really did not bother to live up to the hype of both Om Shanthi Om and Saawariya
