I do not know about who would be the right Captain at this moment!. My imagination goes to my boyhood school days when our teachers and non teaching staff used to stage dramas. One was Ravindrnaths 'Viswarjan'. Shyamadasbabu was missing on the occasion. We later dicovered him on the stage playing the role of Aprna and he was so convincing. With adequate make up Kumble will automatically look like a good SAS and Dravid like a conspiring Bahu. If it can be tried!!

Arjun Sawant in this blog put forth a valid point....That in Australia, we need to have a seam oriented attack and thus how would we be able to accomodate two spinners!!
Valid point and a very valid question!!
But i'll make a small correction... We won't need to go with 4 pacers, rather 3 seamers...then the choice is either a 4 man attack with 3 seamers and the lone spinner or a 5 man attack with 3 seamers and 2 spinners!!
My understanding of conditions in Australia says that we need to go with 3 seamers and 2 spinners!! Simply cos of the fact that history says that you can't take 20 wickets in Australia with a 4 man attack!! They are too good to allow a 4 man attack to bowl them out twice...so victory is out of the question if you go with 3 seamers and the lone spinner!!
Also, Australia have 4 lefties in Jacques, Haden, Hussey and gilchirst...all in form!! To control these guys, you need an offspinner of class....none better than bhajji!!
So, the Indian attack in Australia should be Kumble, Harbhajan, Zaheer Khan, Sreesanth and Munaf Patel/RP Singh
Thus the team would look like this : Sehwag/Jaffer/Karthick Anil Kumble(makeshift opener) Rahul Dravid Sachin Tendulkar Ganguly/Yuvraj Singh MS Dhoni Harbhajan Singh Zaheer Khan Shantakumaran Sreesanth Munaf Patel/RP Singh

and some people say kumble neva expresses emotions on the feild ...but do they remember? how high you jumped when you got the no 10 batsman of bangladesh (who didnt know which was the right side of the bat)...the way you jumped for a moment i thot you had been nominated for the nobel prize for physix or something ....(jump ...im not asking you to stop jumping but jump when you get a good batsman out...dont jump and touch the stars when you get the No 10 or no 11 batsman of zimbawe, bangladesh, canada. holland and ireland.
they also dont remember how your face looks and the way you behave when after bowling 100 overs you manage to get one caught behind chance and it gets dropped!!!

I Think this Advani is no different from another Advani who is obviously more famous.India's captainship is not a woman , what a thinking. Indian selectors have done a great job by naming Kumble as captain. Dhoni should be his understudy till Kumble hangs his boot and then Dhoni should be elevated to the hot seat. I think Yuvi and Sewhag can now forget of ever becoming the captain of Indian cricket team. This time Indian selectors have certainly scored over their Australian counterparts who failed to recognize the talent in Shaun Warne.
Kumble is great servant of ind cricket and won many matches in short and long form of game but never got the credit or media hype even whatever he deserve for. He is most ill treated cricketer and finally he got the honour of leading team which would hv happpened long time before Kumble never express his emotions on the field which many ppl misunderstand that he is not agressive or his body language is not good but he is committed professional team player and he is fighter Kumble never involved in compliants, contraversies, groupism, media /political hipofs,He is silent but superb performer on the cricket field Best of luck to A (NIL) TON Kumble for his new job and also for 600 wkts in test

you cant make a servant of the captain of team india ....that is exactly the point ...you cant go around making servants, chai walas, watchmen as indian captains a captain should have a big heart, he should be a tiger(like ganguly) he should be a prince(like ganguly) thats the whole point ...not servants and watchmen

Hey saley...This is the first time he got respect,after his long career(That too at the end of his career).He is always over shadowed by Sachin,Sourav,Dravid..Dou think ,If anil was not captain ,New captain is going to take Bhajji or someother spinner in place of Anil.
