Good Openner!!
by zubaid on Nov 07, 2007 03:25 AM  | Hide replies

Yusuf can be a dashing Openner if given a chance...He is a Hard Hitter and can score big runs in no time.He would a very good advantage for his Team because INDIA still need an hard hitting Openner....He reminds me of Andrew Symonds of Australia,Shahid Afridi of PAK...He is a Big Man Can HIT Big Size Of Sixes...Asif was wondering when he hit him for such a large six in T20 finale.Remmember??
So plzz Selectors open your eyes and have look around whom you guys are missing.

Yea, I think Yusuf should be in the team .. either as an opener or in the middle order due to his positive attitude. Maybe he just needs to prove himself a little bit more in the domestic level before the selectors consider him seriously. Especially when Raina, Badrinath & Karthik are hitting double centuries, centuries n fifties regularly.

Yusuf Pathan is a very good allrounder...Big Hitter Good offspinner...These kind of people are the biggest asset in T20 format. He can be a good One day player also. He should be given opportunities in One day also.

But he is not from Mumbai, he will nto be given a chance to play,

I can list a few who were sent back even after their good performances
Suresh Raina had avery good tour in Pakistan - Where is he now?
Murali Karthik - again had a good perfromance in the tout of Pakistan - Where was he till this series?

Vengsarkar will do his best to stop all this budding cricketers and will make it a team of Mumbai, and this has always happend

I agree. Vengsarkar has long history of bais in favour of Mumbai players. He is trying is best but mumbai players are not good enough otherwise all 14 would have been from Mumbai.

C'mon u stupid ppl.... just have a look at the cricket team and tell how many mumbai players are there...

Just sit there are talk Mumbai hai hai... vengsarkar is better than the stupid selectors who once had 6 players from Karnataka in the playing eleven...

Sujith Somasundar
Dravid
Vijay Bharadwaj
Srinath
Prasad
David Johnson.

and coincidence - Deve Gowda was the PM then!

Sujith's inclusion surprised all..... he..he..

wat happened to kumble and S. Joshi? Not good enuf? he he
Of all the names mentioned, except Sujith Som..everyone else made it on merit. Johnson was then our fastest bowler, Vijay was a decent allrounder - they moved in by their ranji performances alone...fortunately or unfortunately both didnt click..

I do agree to one statement of Mr.Sujith Somasundar, but, rest of the players were the most deserved in the final XI. David Johnson, he was the fastest bowler during that era, may be didn't perform well. How can we think regionwise when considering the players like Dravid, Kumble, Srinath. Prasad & Bhardwaj have also paid their excellent effort for indian team

Sujith's inclusion was at the behest of a gentleman named Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar! No, I am not kidding.

Its just that a selectors observing mostly their reginal players directly on field, feel that their players are best and should be in the Indian team. If selections concentrate on looking at the matches played in other parts of the India when matches are ON, only then this regional stuff is gone.

Karnatak is no class in front of Mumbai. It is a state and Mumbai is a city. Still no comparison. You can never find in another hundred years players like Tendulkar, Gavaskar, Vengsarkar, Wadekar, Umrigar and many other players who even are better than your state team. You have one great player. The stupid Gowda
