by on Nov 08, 2007 12:10 PM

Mr Arun Mehra Since u speaks of Stats. plz take the last 5 years record n compare which ever way u want to prove ur statement i mean even tail up n heads down to prove ganguly has better record than dravid in any format of the game.. C the avg of individuals on the teams winning matches.. Man of the match is only an award given to an idividual for his outstanding contribution to the match.. BUT THAT DOESNT MEAN ONLY HE CONTRIBUTED AND HE ALONE WON THE MATCH.. That is were i hold my statement, forget about the award, but the contribution Rahul has made. Ganguly doesnt come near take all the statz India has won n c. and when it come to test- THE TRUE BEAUTY OF THE GAME- dravid is the best.. ANY DOUDT copy and paste this link n c it YOURSELF http://www.indiancricketfans.com/showthread.php?t=8707.

and u says people like vikas who have no clue about cricket and talk about it. you mean to say ODI is all abt hittin sixers and fours???? Dude unless u r perfect don comment on others.

Under this guy we lost the world cup. Chappell insisted on a younger team but all the oldies went. Vengsarkar told that he does not select a team based on individual wishes. Next he used his editorial columns in conflict of interest to air his views on team strategy trying to deflect critisism on his failures to the team management. Bad Bad. Next he continued to use this same approach to chastise Dravid in public. What a shame. Then we lost 4-2 to Australia. Again nobody points to selector%u2019s accountability here. Dravid was made the Ginny pig. Then he does not call Dhoni to selectors meeting when they picked the team. Just a mere phone call after the selection will not do. Then he does not inform Dravid of the decision based on Ego that Dravid did not inform him. Bad again. Dravid cannot inform you dude. You can write again something in the editorial column to deflect or make personal gains out of the situation. Vengsarkar should be impeached and stripped of the selection panel. We should have a message board if we should have Vengsarkar on the panel. We only talk about the poor players.

SELECTORS JOKERS
by Leslie Mascarenhas on Nov 07, 2007 03:18 PM

Selectors like Vengsaker have played One Day Cricket the way the would have Test.I remember Dravid used to play it the same way but as the hallmark of one of the great players he changed his game to suit One Day.He even donned Wicket keepers gloves when needed. One bad series against Australia & he has to sit out.Yuvi, Dhoni to have had their share of bad series but they have been persisted with.So what our selectors are saying is that once Dhoni reaches 30-32 & he has a bad series he may have to sit out.The players are to be blamed for such a mess as instead of uniting against such unfair practises they behave like crabs & are only eager to pull each one down. Most Selectors or heads of each Zone mostly have never played a Single game in their life & it is only because of political patronage that they hold on to their post.Cricketers must decide cricket without fear & players play not only as a team but must unite against any unfair decision or practise. Its more of a Commercial Circus now with crickrters selling toothpaste to cars & cricket is losing its respectibilty.Money rules the game.Dravid is a player par excellence who is also a good slip feilder, the finest bats & a team player. He is a natural leader & is always approachable which is a good point for young cricketers.By shutting the door on him is not only insulting for the tears & toil he has put but also a bad omen for things to come in the future of Indian Cricket.WE THE PEOPLE MUST AWAKE BEFORE ITS TO LATE

RD the wall
by pawan tripathi on Nov 07, 2007 11:06 AM

They have given him the title of 'The Wall' not for nothing. And over the years, RD has proved that he is no ordinary wall. Indeed, he is a wall of solid character and substance that needs absolutely no repairs, and that his batting skills have displayed time and again.

Unfortunately, for India, Vengsarkar and company do not have a clear vision!

There is one and only RD of Indian music industry. And so is there an RD of Indian Cricket. Truly this RD is also the great wall of Cricket India.

Dravid The Great!
by Sanjeev Verma on Nov 07, 2007 10:44 AM

From Cricinfo:
"I told my boys, idhar udhar nahi hone ka, uski batting close se dekho, [focus on how he is batting] ... you are not going to get a better education in pacing an innings than this," Amol Muzumdar, the Mumbai captain, later told Cricinfo. "He didn't let anything affect him. The match situation, the humid weather, the bowling ... it was a treat to watch him bat."

It was a two-paced innings. On the third day Dravid chose safety, focusing on taking Karnataka, 142 runs in arrears, into a position of strength on a slow track, before changing gears on the fourth. He scored 77 runs off 178 balls on Monday; today, 137 runs were whipped off 152 balls as Dravid ensured his state side emerged with a creditable draw.

Dravid
by rahul malhotra on Nov 07, 2007 10:42 AM

I think its a timely return to form for Dravid, he would be a key member in the team in test matches against Pak, and esp Aus. Our big 3, Sachin, Saurav, Rahul have shown in the past that they have what it takes to do well in Australia, and Laxman has always done well in Australia. We would stand a great chance if these 4 batsmen can repeat the form they showed in Aus in 2003. Aus without Glenn, Warne, Langer may not be as strong a team as they were.
