vengsarkar what a test team! hats off to your cricketing knowledge.
No openers in tests and 6 openers in one dayers wow what a fool u are
I don't expect anything new from the selectors. It will be Dhoni coz they would not want Dada even though he is best suited for that job. They will report his name was considered but the final decision was for Dhoni. Sachin has opted out, Kumble no previous experience, the same for Laxman and since Dhoni has done well in ODI's and T20's they decided to go in for Dhoni. No consideration would be given to how they are going to burden Dhoni but then guess everyone knows what the final decision is. All this media hulla boo is a waste of time. So in a way we are wasting time reading all these developments.

Ganguly is a truly great captain but he is in his twilight years. Like a good "dada" he should guide the youger lot, Dhoni in particular and pass on the skills he has acquired. It is his duty as well as the right of the younger generation
Whatever one has seen of Dhaoni as a captain. He looks to be good. As far as captaincy in tests against Pakistan is concerned. Dhoni should be made vice captain under Kumble. Kumble is in twilight of his career. This will be a tribute to him for his great contribution to the Indian Cricket and give chance to Dhoni to learn from him.

Do we want to pay tributes or win matches. When Kartik is doing so well how can one even think of Kumble being in the team? Tributes can be paid in some farewell party later or now.

Kumble is right arm and Karthick is left arm. There is let of difference between the two, Kumble's experience and record are an example. We can't help. The selectors are a bunch of Jokers.

Kumble has had enough chances to prove himself. In his last outing (England) he failed to do any thing remarkable as England were able to save the last test. Why not try Kartik in tests too instead of living on presumptions based on old statistics. We should remember one thing - respect for the elder or gerentocracy is a fine cultural value but in field where you have to stand up and be counted, gerentocracy can humiliate a whole society. It is better if the younger and energetic people take over from the older ones and and elders relish their achievments from the comfort of their drawing rooms. Unfortunately the lure of big in cricket (as in politics too) is keeping old men (and women) glued to active life resulting in disasters. The young team India has invented the winning formula. It will be criminal to stifle them.

actually kumble and kartik have to be in the team.It is Bhajji who needs to be shoved out. He seems to have lost his wicket takign abilities. He is just trying to keep his bowling figures intact in one dayers.

Please do not show a bias for the southern part of India, thinking of it as a separate entity. If you consider yourself an Indian, think of team India. Bhajji has been bowling quite well. Besides, he is an off spinner wheras both Kartik and Kumble are leg spinners. We can think of Kumble if, under certain circumstances, we have to play a third spinner. Even then Piyush Chawla will be in contention. And do not get unduly impressed by age and experience.
My comments read "Greg Chappel is a trojan horse. Beware of his advices". Why did you find it abusive? Would the moderator please explain? The world no 2 side was reduced to non-qualifier by his devious methods. If we can not see how his evil designs worked that we must be idiots and fully desrved to be slaves of the British. Soon after Chappel was chucked out the team has revived. Chappel is trying yet again, duly supported by his friends, to debilitate team India before their visit down under. We must not heed him.
