Seniors DO have a big role in the team
by Sudipto Ghosh on Nov 04, 2007 03:26 AM  | Hide replies

The senior players definitely deserve a place in the side. Since they made their debut, so many faces have come and gone some we dont even remember. Sachin, Ganguly and Dravid are still there and the reason is that they deserved to be there. They have the talent and the ability to play at par with any other present day cricketer.
Dravid is one of my favourite players. He is a real gentleman both on and outside the field.
He deserves to be in the team and I am shocked that a cricketer of his calibre has been dropped. There definitely seems to be a reason other than cricket. I am hoping the real reason comes out soon and is rectified because we are all going to miss Dravid on the field.

If Ganguly is offered test captaincy, then he must reject it becoz if the team looses the scape goat will be ganguly and axe will fall on him.BCCI is not looking for test captaincy but for scape goats.

Amongst the 3 Ganguli is one who looks determined to prove things. The other two just walk if the things are difficult. On the other hand if things are bit easier they over do to earn more grace. Infact Sachin and Dravid are streching while playing ODI's. With all respect to their contribution to team they must gracefully plan out their carrier for ODI's.

I think you are not aware of cricket these days......just walkthrough the scorecards for the last 10, 20 or 50 matches and lighten yourself little bit the role of seniors.

yooooo srikanth i aint a bengali but i do support ganguly.... if it werent for ganguly we wldnt have yuvraj, harbhajan, zaheer, irfan, sehwag, kaif and few other good cricketers... he even sacrificed his position as opening batsman to sehwag to go with sachin..... dun ever say he wasnt or he isnt playing for country.... may be now hes a bit selfish but thatz for da india's sake.... ind vs aus... recent series... it was sachin n ganguly were the only batsmen who played above average.... so hushhhhhh

you are abolutely right. i respect their experience and their game but ODI format is a little too taxing on their fitness. Unless they can really fight out their fitness problems, they can relax a bit and allow the younger lot to prove a point. It is a good thing that the present Indian team has more promising players to fill in the void. There was a time when the seniors were indeispensable but now the younger lads are in plenty and india can have atleast 4 teams of international standards. I respect inzimam's observation but it wont help the pakistan team.

Emergency in Pakistan
by demis on Nov 03, 2007 10:37 PM  | Hide replies

Friends,

I believe this is a very sad state in Pakistan. They once belonged to our nation and it must be admitted that they should be treated as our fellow brothers.. Thank God that even in cricket, we have lost the revengeful attitude to treat cricket as war.. Now I believe we have rivalry against Aussies..not Pakis..It would be difficult for the Pak Players to put up a good show when their family members are in awkward state..

Pakistan's separation from India had cost them much.. This rivalry was created by some anti social elements including terrorists and people like Musharraf.. If our country had a President like Bush, he would have already intervened into the situation..

This was least expected by the people of Pakistan when they separated from us.. Stop the nonsense Jihad and start loving each other.. You need to overcome evil with good..

I wish them all the best in the coming days.. God Bless Pakistan..

Jai Hind.. A loving brother from India..

inzy was a silent humble cricketer who talked only with the bat on field. there are some loud mouths in the pak team(these days we have em too)but inzy was always that cool dangerous man who could turn teh course of any match. who can forget india's 349 at karachi being at risk with a cool inzamam taking the attack to the indians. ofcourse we should thank him for the lighter moments he has given us with his running between wickets. he had that open mouthed innocent look on this face after running himself out or running his partner out. i won't surely miss him when india plays, but yeah, otherwise we miss a great player who was a match winner. the only instance i have seen him angry and provokedonly once(other than the aloo incident) and that was when sreesanth walked up to him and said something really uncalled for and inzy went after him from the next ball. a good lesson for those who sledge at inzy.
