even if Lara who's already 37 is called back, for how long he can carry on this underperforming good-for-nothing west indies team on his shoulders and bear the brunt of fans' expectaions. i believe this is renaissance time for west indies to get back into act and showcase some solid performances ... calling lara back will not serve the purpose coz the guy will retire most likely in another year or so ... thatz why, emphasis should be on the point to bulid a well balanced team for the future.

WI needs a gr8 match fixer like (b)azharuddin so that they do something in cricket..bring (b)azharuddin by granting him honorary cit since he is a great known experienced match fixer.

well that's a very interesting and positive approach from your side ... but unfortunately their are not many takers for this theory of yours !!! all WI need is a gr8 player and fielder like azhar ... class act in his heydays !!!

(b)azharuddin was a class for sure...class in selling india....class in destroying cricket careers, class in making cricket corrupt, class in being a pioneer in bringing corruption to cricket, onnly in india these class players survive.

i thogth this board is abt WI SARVAN.. I hv noticed on rediff if topic is abt movies , any without SRK OR AMIT every body discusses abt their rivalry . and cricke abt sayrabh , sachi bcci team selection even if the topic is abt lara, sarvan warne or mcgraw ponting , gilchrist, why is that why readers r not to the pt.

It was not a wrong team because it had sachin. Sachin had written to the BCCI BCCI, BCCI, find me a weak team I'll thrash them around , their bowling I'll cream BCCI please give me guys with military medium pace That will hide my inadequacy and show me with grace Otherwise with my pedestrian bating the future looks grim

Hmm Garnet, that's quite ironic ... isn't it ? that you have to login and write on discussion board only to mock it ... well i believe not many share the same passions on the same as you!
Why Irfan Pathan was not considered for Bangla Tour even when Sree Santh & Munaf Patel were pulled back because of injuries?. Remember he is still in the 16th position in the bowlers world ranking and his batting average in the recent past was much better than Sehwag or Tendulkar.

but his question is very releavant and valid. though pathan hawa mein udhne laga than but he has potential to become a world class alrounder.

coz he was struggling with loose motion that is the reason
most of the times, he is injured than playing. A captain should always think about calculated risk of injury while fielding. Just saving a boundry, and loosing your main batting contribution to the team. I donno who is going lead WI team now?? Gayle is in a very poor form presently.

hi Stud ... i agree that a captain's presence is critical for the team but then he should not be a liability on field just to ward-off injuries ... for instance consider the example of ponting or azharuddin for that matter who are/ were very fit and agile without many injuries. here the issue is more with WI board for not having a back-up captain and the team having so many out-of-form players.

I dont think they have anybody who is in form.....Gayle or Ganga looks obvious choice.....If Chanderpaul is there he could do it....

I don't think Ganga will get a chance to lead. Bravo may be the first choice otherwise Chanderpaul.

If any captain has to be in calculated on the field even for how much risk he has to take to stop a ball or a catch, then, his days will be calculated as a leader of the team or even his place as a member in the team.
